Nazi gold train might contain "Eighth Wonder of the World" looted from a palace in Russia.. the location of the train has been confirmed
the article says it's from a palace in Berlin, which is incorrect.

The palace is in Russia.

Nazi gold train could contain lost Amber Room of Charlottenburg Palace

Last week headlines were made around the world as treasure hunters claimed to have identified a legendary Nazi train packed with gold and money, hidden in a long-forgotten tunnel in the Polish mountains, the location of which has now been confirmed by the Polish Ministry. Now it has been reported that the train may also contain the long-lost Amber Room of Charlottenburg Palace, an early 1700s room crafted from amber, gold, and precious jewels, estimated to now be worth $385 million.

Poland’s Culture Ministry announced that the location of the Nazi train was revealed to a Pole and a German, whose identities have been kept secret, through a deathbed confession. The Telegraph reported that two treasure-hunters found the 100-meter-long armoured train and immediately submitted a claim to the Polish government – under Polish law treasure findings can keep 10 per cent of the value of their find. The Polish Ministry have now confirmed the location of the train using ground-penetrating radar.

The train is said to be located in an underground tunnel constructed by the Nazis along a 4km stretch of track on the Wroclaw-Walbryzch line. However, its exact location is being kept hidden, not least because it is believed to be booby trapped or mined and will need to be investigated through a careful operation conducted by the Army, Police and Fire Brigade

The Amber Room is a world famous chamber decorated in amber panels backed with gold leafs and mirrors, located in the Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo near Saint Petersburg. Originally constructed in the 18th century in Prussia, the Amber Room disappeared during World War II and was recreated in 2003. Before the room was lost, it was considered an "Eighth Wonder of the World". [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

another article by the same source where the title and article contents differ..it was a gift from the King of Prussia to the Tsar of Russia

The Disappearance of the Amber Room of Charlottenburg Palace

[...] The Amber Room was originally installed in Charlottenburg Palace, which was the home of Frederick I, the first King in Prussia. The room was designed by the German baroque sculptor, Andreas Schlüter, and the Danish amber craftsman, Gottfried Wolfram. Construction of the Amber Room began in 1701 and was completed in 1711. During a state visit to Prussia, the Amber Room caught the eye of the Tsar of Russia, Peter the Great. Interestingly, during Peter’s visit, the Amber Room was actually incomplete, as Frederick William was more interested in martial matters, and did not continue the work on the Amber Room when he inherited the throne of Prussia. Nevertheless, Peter’s interest in the Amber Room meant that Frederick William had the opportunity to gain the favour of the Tsar of Russia. Thus, Frederick William presented the Amber Room to Peter in 1716 in order to cement the newly-formed Prussian-Russian alliance against Sweden.

The Amber Room was shipped to Russia in 18 large boxes, where it was installed in the Winter House in St. Petersburg as part of a European art collection. In 1755, Tsarina Elizabeth had the Amber Room moved to the Catherine Place in Pushkin, [link to www.ancient-origins.net]

It would explain a lot about where it disappeared to...it really is a fascinating story and I hope Russia gets it back if it is that. There was something quite magical about WWII - so much innovation and building in such a short amount of time. There was the bad parts too if you were not in gov or an elite. yup, and the fact that a popular archaeological site insists that the treasure is from a palace in Berlin, only adds to the intrigue.

Tadeusz Sowikowski, a history enthusiast from Wabrzych, believes that the train is in a secret tunnel that once existed on the railway line between Swiebodzice and Wabrzych. If the tunnel does indeed exist, Sowikowski claims its entrance would have to be hidden under the embankment near Walbrzych Szczawienko station.

Sowikowski, who has been handling the case for more than half a century, has based his hypothesis on numerous eyewitness accounts from German railwayman and other locals who reportedly saw the tunnel. Sowikowski has also reportedly found evidence of the tunnel in military archives.

Nazi gold train: Russia could claim treasures found inside buried carriages in Poland

The mysterious contents of the Nazi ghost train found underground in Poland could be claimed by Russia, according to reports.

A lawyer has said that any treasures found within may go to the Kremlin as compensation for the ravages of the Second World War.

"Representatives of Russia should undoubtedly be involved in determining the value of the items discovered if the train is located," lawyer Mikhail Joffe told Sputnik.

"In this case, Poland is obliged to engage international experts to clarify what is in the cargo.

"If the property has been taken from territory, including USSR, then the cargo, in accordance with international law, must be passed to the Russian side."

[...] German troops stole the treasure chamber from a palace near St Petersburg in 1941 and took it to Koenigsberg, now the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, before it disappeared.

Conspiracy theories abound about the whereabouts of what some say is the world's most valuable piece of lost art. Some historians think it was destroyed in the war, others say Germans smuggled it to safety.<50% [link to www.mirror.co.uk]

interesting.

in that article it says the train is believed to be under The Ksiaz castle.

Tourists Flock to Ksiaz Castle in Poland as Underground Nazi Gold Train Discovered

[...] Zuchowski said information about the train had come from a deathbed confession from a German that was involved in the massive operation. Between 1943 and 1945, Germany forced prisoners of war to dig more than five miles of underground tunnels near Walbrzych, and were told they would be used as factories.

The train was rumored to have been carrying gold from what is now the Polish city of Wroclaw, as the Soviet army closed in at the end of World War II. What does remain fact, are the mysteries behind one of the largest castles in Europe and its vast underground tunnels, several currently open to the public.

The history of the Ksiaz Castle is filled with unsolved mysteries. The castle was built between 1288-1292 and after numerous renovations, it now has over 400 rooms and a multitude of different styles.

The castle is situated on a high rocky tip on a bend of Pecznica River, and for centuries belonged to the powerful Hochberg family.<50% [link to www.forbes.com]

wow..and what's under there is not only the train, but many unopened rooms etc. containing Nazi documents.

the implications are HUGE

...According to representatives at the Castle, in 1939 the Castle and it vast surrounding area were taken over by the treasury. In 1941, the castle was confiscated by the Nazi’s. Researchers believe that the paramilitary organization group Todt took over the castle in order to convert it into Hitler’s headquarters. Rooms located in the basement of the castle were built by the Nazis after the war and have never been opened. Beneath the castle, Germans dug huge tunnels (using the Gross Rosen concentration camp prisoners), in which trucks could freely move. The concrete finished tunnels stretch almost 3,200 square miles. There are also claims of a hidden laboratory where German scientist Hubertus Strughold conducted rocket research. Interestingly enough, parts of the castle are currently held by the Seismic Station of Polish Academy of Sciences.

[...] According to documents from the Archives in Koblenz, Ksiaz Castle was to become a repository of documents from the SS and the Reich Security Main Office. The action was code named Brabant Joseph I. At the end of the war, large boxes filled with unknown objects began arriving to the Castle. In the underground tunnel most entries were covered and destroyed, forever entombing its bounty

The train contains a Doomsday machine that the Nazis captured from an Allied base. It was placed upon that train and then buried in hopes of staving off the end of the world. The U.S. And Israel have never stopped searching for it which is the real reason for every war since WWII. Now that it has been located the forces of good must once again come together to prevent the U.S. And it's Jewish masters from obtaining and using the machine that will end us all.

I highly doubt if the Jews are worried about what's on the train.

the Catholic Church on the other hand, is probably VERY concerned.

Nazi gold train: Russia may lay claim to any treasure

Polish authorities have hit back at an apparent Russian attempt to claim to preemptively the contents of a buried Nazi train, reasserting the nation's ownership of any World War Two treasures.

"The analysis we have conducted with our lawyers quite clearly states that if the train is found it will be owned by the State Treasury," said Piotr Zuchowski, a vice minister for conservation, in an interview with Poland's Radio Jedynka.

He appeared to be responding to reports in the Russian state media that Moscow would have a claim to any valuables unearthed at site in south-west Poland as compensation for its wartime losses.

[...] Despite the growing row over who will own whatever is unearthed, Polish authorities conceded that it will be at least "a few months" until the train is unearthed and its contents announced. <50% [link to www.telegraph.co.uk]

Polish ‘Nazi gold train’ city basks in ‘Loch Ness Monster effect’

[...] Poland’s very own Loch Ness Monster has catapulted Walbrzych into the public eye, with swarms of treasure-hunters and foreign television crews showing up at what is known as “kilometer 65" of the Wroclaw-Walbrzych train track.

Gaik himself tried to locate the train years ago with a group of enthusiasts led by retired miner Tadeusz Slowikowski.

They dug into the slope and found concrete and bricks but were forced to give up their efforts for lack of better equipment and funds.

Fast-forward a decade and he believes the train will soon see the light of day.

“There’s a large opening in the rock in the slope and it’s filled with all kinds of stones, which had to have been brought over by the Germans to hide the tunnel entryway,” Gaik said.

A sizeable section of the slope also looks different from the rest: the vegetation is sparser for several meters (feet) as if the ground were less fertile there.

Another clue according to Gaik is a piece of retaining wall that juts out of the slope at an acute angle. He believes it hints at the secret railroad switch that the Nazis were said to have built to redirect trains into a massive network of underground passages.

Nazi Germany had concentration camp inmates build the huge tunnels — code-named Riese (Giant) — to notably shelter Adolf Hitler and his associates.

The train’s exact location was supposed to be kept under wraps but curious onlookers can already be seen loitering around where X marks the spot.<50% [link to www.timesofisrael.com]

Gluszyca ,Poland - Riese was big / Bigger than Dora/research and production complex for aircraft's and missiles/ small type/
Second- Soviet Army took over entire area and looted extensively till about 1958. Contents recovered was used in development of Russian weaponry. German population was replaced with Polish refugees from annexed Ukraine.
Russians did not left entirely and maintained few large military bases in close proximity . In open and "Top Secret"
