However is it marked as dolphin friendly and if not wtf you eating it for? Tbh this is the least of your worries with radiation. Start looking at antibiotics and steroids in the other meats and dairy you enjoy. They will probably have a much greater influence on your health in your lifetime than a small dose of radiation. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70112046 Don't get me wrong radiation is bad, but antibiotic resistant microbes are so much worse. It does say dolphin friendly, but I haven't eaten it anyways.. Anonymous Coward User ID: 70197740 New Zealand 08/29/2015 09:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am playing Junior hockey this year and I'm staying with a billet family they stock the shelves with no name brand canned tuna..! Anyways google doesn't seem to show useful information anymore so I can find nothing about the origin of this seafood! Can any body point me in the right direction because I have avoided seafood all together unless I know for certain it wasn't from the pacific.. Thank you so much! Quoting: Tasty THC all i can say is blue fin tuna was found to contain levels of cessium 137'147 from fukushima but the level was found to be acceptable because usa raised the amount of radiation humans can eat so will apply canada as well. usa environment agency did the same trick in the gulf spill they just raised the allowable core-exit contamination level to a higher scale, so that all contaminated seafood became acceptable for consumption. lol |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 55824895 United States 08/29/2015 09:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A I'm pretty sure the majority of canned Tuna IS from the Pacific-I just avoid it altogether. I've also stopped buying ANY frozen seafood from the grocery store, because even most of the shrimp comes from disgusting shrimp farms in Vietnam, (you can find plenty of articles with pictures on these things being shut down). I don't trust our USDA to inspect ANY seafood and have known of MANY people getting sick. Quoting: LostAndFound60 Unfortunately, I rarely eat seafood at all anymore, but will occasionally get some fresh Cod, clams or lobster from the North Atlantic...but that's rare because you pay a LOT for the GOOD, SAFE stuff. Although I'm living here in the NorthEast now, it's still VERY rare to splurge on seafood. LONG before the Gulf oil disaster, I'd done a 3 year externship with an infectious disease Doc in a Southern city. I'd LOVED oysters and shrimp and often went with family and friends to splurge on fresh catches on the coast. Then I started seeing patients with horrible parasitic diseases-many of them residents and fishermen from the coast that had been transferred to our hospital. After seeing a 40 year old man dying in ICU, who looked more like 80, covered in boils and skin peeling away-and finding out this parasite was rampant in Gulf shellfish-i quit eating it. It was more than that actually- it was the number of people we saw for parasitic, fungal and bacterial diseases that originated in our delicious gulf seafood. My daughter now works in an ER not far from the Gulf coast and says that since the Gulf oil spill, cases of these diseases-and other food poisoning they can't always pinpoint-specifically from people who'd eaten seafood from the Gulf; have tripled. After what we've seen-we'd rather be safe than sorry. Are they eating it raw? I know raw oyster is popular down there. I would think if seafood was properly cooked it wouldn't be a problem. Also, people who handle raw fish and seafood are more likely to catch these parasitic and bacterial diseases. |

I still have some pre FUshima fish in my freezer, but when that is gone, I'm not going to eat any fish, just for the same reason, the OP has pointed out ... THEY DON"T TELL YOU WHERE IT IS FROM ... and I am not going to eat anything from the Pacific or the Gulf ... you can eat it, see if I care, eat it raw, for all I care, but I ain't suicidal even if you are ... why do you think they DON'T tell you where it is from ? I have discovered that canned chicken tastes just like tuna, guess that is why they call it "chicken of the sea" I make my tuna salads with it now ... of course it is "organic" - why would I feed myself anything else? I wouldn't feed fresh tuna to my cats ... do your homework, and count your blessing that you haven't eaten a hot particle already ... why would you risk it ... its like play Russian roulette - the more irradiated the Pacific gets, the greater your odds are of getting "hot food" ... I don't play games with my health ... but you can do what you want.... remember, what they programed you to belive "IGNORE-ace is bliss" |

Unless she drinks fosters from a can and the word "mate" is in her vocabulary, she's likely from Australia. If she's really dark skin, brown eyes and and has an afro, almost certainly hails from the African continent. Lots of ways to tell, language should be your first clue then go from there.
