At this point I'm convinced these ppl that do these types of things are either meddling with the powers of attraction or are naturally vibrating high enough that any inane act will bring them fortune.

Like the guy that turned a paperclip into a fully paid off nice house within a year or two, by trading.

The article also mentions another kid in Austraila who sold his website business for $83,000 in January of this year. The site was a mail prank site in which users paid $7.99 to send people glitter in the mail.
Seriously?

Meanwhile I'm working my ass off like an idiot, up holding professional licenses and paying serious bank for office space and equipment.

I honestly love this thread though, besides being a break from today's news, I would enjoy hearing more success stories, even if they are like the ones mentioned. Gives me hope that one day I might have a crazy idea that works! Ha!

Don't get all bent out of shape about it. For every story like this, there are literally hundreds of thousands of failures. Life contains an element of capriciousness, of risk, that just can't be swept under the carpet. (Something modern economics seems to have forgotten, but I digress). Risk is fundamental, but it can be managed to some extent. You are playing the odds, being the tortouse not the hare. Think of the long term. 80k for one idea that will fizzle out is a flash in the pan compared to what is possible with a steadier approach. Just my opinion.

Cool idea...everyone loves potatoes :)

there ya go, you just thought of one. you could, for instance, start a website called crazyideasthatwork.com, or something like that which highlights peoples' off-the-wall money-making ideas. i think such a site would get some traffic. this is just one example.
