Pa. mother with concealed carry permit faces 3 years for N.J. traffic stop
An old story, but I just came across it while researching how much bullshit I'll need to go through here in PA to get a CCL.

A Pennsylvania mother with a concealed carry permit is now facing up to three years in prison because she notified police of her loaded handgun during a traffic stop in New Jersey.

What gets me is this part:

“People believe that your gun license should be treated like your driver’s license. Right now there’s a national law being proposed that would mandate that all states recognize other states licenses,” he told the station. “It’s still pending, but it’s needed for people like this. I’m calling that bill Shaneen’s law.”

Yeah, you could make this yet another federal law. Or, you know, you could just follow the U.S. Constitution and there'd be no need for a ten thousand page law which would surely be filled with all kinds of pork. Yes, I believe in state's rights, but unless I'm mistaken, the Second Amendment and all other Constitutional protections are really the only things that can supersede what states say.

only when it makes money for the local courts.

rights cannot be overturned by the states when the supreme law of the land states said right "shall not be infringed" that includes infringement by so called states.

but, that is just for the right "to keep and bear arms" change the words to "concealed carry" and the right becomes changed to a "legal permitted" activity.

it all depends on the words and their assigned definitions.

Yes, full faith and credit should apply to many circumstances it is not allowed to currently. The big one is they're applying it to gay marriage.

Bottom line is states don't have rights to their own gun laws when those laws by their very existence infringe upon 2nd amendment

Even in a normal revocation of gun rights for felony charges there is the fact that the originator s would have never imagined letting the streets be filled with recidivist rapists murderers or armed robbers, so there was no need to talk about taking anybody's rights. Crazies were generally considered to be a family's problem to deal with etc, or if no family institutionalize d.

So a person gets 3 years in prison for carrying a gun with a permit. Bruce Jenner kills a person by driving reckless and only faces a max of 1 year. Makes sense right?
