that is weird. It's like a continuous .25 earthquake for the last 15-20 minutes or so.

Slow quake, slow quakes are what occurred before the 9.0 off the coast of Japan.

the underlayment of the LA basin is largely a type of mineral called serpentine it is a very fluid rock similar to gypsum if you are getting a slow quake like this its only a matter of time before the harder rocks overcome their inertia earthquake incomming

Wow - I've felt several times this morning slight dizziness and slight ground movement like a trampoline - so much so that I went into the kitchen to check my earthquake detectors but the chains aren't moving. So I thought it was just me being dizzy - maybe not - maybe its too slight for my crude earthquake detectors to pick up on it.

For the 3/11 9.0m it was a month of recording this event. According to what I've read it's like a building of pressure until a large release. I would think this not being a subduction quake would result in only taking hours or a few days before it's released. Im not a geologist or expert in any way, just an hypothesis based off of various things Ive read.

Couldn't normal foot traffic, elevators moving in building or trucks/buses outside keep it humming along like that?
