ISIS and COBRA
First of all, think back to the 1980's. We were spoon fed as children, any of us who were born in the mid-to-late 1970's to mid-1980's Hasbro marketing machine staples like GI Joe.

The Enemy in GI Joe was COBRA an international terrorist organization. The leader of Cobra, Cobra Commander spoke with a lisp that was an exaggerated "issssss" when he said any word that had a letter 's'. He is known to wear a hood.

Do a quick search for the prominence of the cobra in Egyptian mythology dealing with Isis the goddess. You'll see how tied they are together.

Now what has been done here? The name of Isis an Egyptian goddess, has been smeared, new speak style and is now more famous for the name of a terrorist organization.

In one of the latest live action GI Joe movies, the Eiffel Tower is destroyed.

Now here is what probably also should seem obvious. There are two debated views on how to approach this inevitable clash of civilizations. The one is pseudo-liberal. It began at the turn of the last century with the popularization of W.A.S.P.s who were already 33° Scottish Rite Masons. The Shriners. General McArthur was one of the most prominent. They study this Anglicized version of Islam. I believe it was an attempt at integration. Which is still the hope of many to avoid the only other possible outcome: all out war.

As far as not having balls or not, to do more against radical Islam, that's not quite it. With Al Qaeda, they realized it's impossible to fight non-state actors. So what's happening? They are being given the space to become a "state". Only then can a full-fledged conventional (in the best case scenario admittedly) war be waged. Yet also only if lines that the international community would never question are crossed.

The Intergrstionists are losing the argument obviously, because things have worsened. Now I don't rule out Hawks and War-mongers and war-profiteers helping the situation to worsen. Yet it's not some centrally orchestrated endeavor.

The question is, what is the true rubicon? What is the line that once crossed, the West will have no choice but to wage an all-out war on the Middle East?

Is it Israel or a major western city being sacked? A nuke? There will eventually be a tipping point.

My fear, is that Russia and China will object to what the masses of Europe and America beg their militaries do in retaliation, and Russia and China will use this retaliation as their excuse to attack NATO in the "defense" of the Middle East.

Then it's game over. Then we're all fucked.

The older I get, the more it feels inevitable.

Go-bots? Taiwan probably. Lol. As The Transformers in general would be Japan. Yet that's misleading. Autobots and Decepticons are both merely representative of the two largest demands on fossil fuels: Autobots represent the transportation sector while Decepticons represent the military. Both require fossil fuels.

In the original 1980's series the continuous plot in virtually every episode was the Autobots and Decepticons fighting over Earth's natural resources to convert into "energon".

The Transformers prepped us for the coming conflicts over resources - GI Joe gave us the geopolitical backdrop.

Plenty of really serious issues at play for a target audience of children. And mainly boys who would grow up to be military age for nine eleven.
