Bank of America drive throughs closed
I went to the drive through at Bank of America and all the lanes were closed---and the blinds were down at the windows. I saw people entering/ exiting the bank and so I went inside. The teller told me all BOA drivethroughs are going to be closed due to " online banking , also fraud", she said. I know there was a thread awhile back about drive throughs being closed in other states. Now it is happening in Tennessee. She didn't seem like she wanted to discuss it and it was like she added the " fraud" part as an afterthought . I just thought it was strange.
But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

I'm in NJ and I noticed a few weeks ago that they were parking cars in the drive through lanes. Didn't know the reason because nothing was posted about it.

Went to deposit a check at my local BofA (Puget Sound area) and found that the whole bank was shuttered. We'd not heard anything about it, and it looks like they're remodeling, but the ATM was gone.

Hubby said to look across the street in the strip mall parking lot, and there was a drive through ATM for the BofA. I missed getting close enough to use the machine through the car window, so had to open the door and sit sideways with my feet out in order to reach the keys. It all worked OK, but I'm still surprised that they'd close without warning people. It's a small town, so they could easily have put up big signs on the building, or in the parking lot to warn people about the closure.

We have a BoA account. I couldn't log in online to it today, said I had the wrong username which makes no sense because we've had this account for 15 years and I've logged in to it hundreds of times. my husband was able to log into it but he is in another state today. I am in AZ.

This might bring some of it to light.......

snips.....

Since at least 2013, Bank of America has been shutting down some of its drive-through lanes, citing declining use of the service. Those closures have come as more transactions take place on smartphones.

Earlier this year, the bank announced on its website that it was discontinuing drive-through service at its Myers Park branch, on busy Providence Road, on June 8.

Some customers weren’t happy by that news, and they let the bank know it.

“Look in my backseat,” she told the manager, referring to her three young children. “This is why I don’t want to get out of my car to do banking.

“He said, ‘We’re trying to drive customers to mobile banking.’”

Bank of America would not disclose how many complaints it received before it reversed course on the Myers Park branch. Spokeswoman Betty Riess said the bank listens to its customers and continually adapts and responds based on their needs.

The loss of drive-through service and closures of branches are frequent occurrences these days, as banks adjust to changing customer habits, says Greg McBride, chief financial analyst for Florida-based Bankrate.com.
