I think Mark taught him some valuable lessons. Mark could have easily killed the little demon boy, but he exercised restraint the whole time, defending from the demon boy's attacks. He never even struck the demon boy, he just pushed him back.

No doubt there are many things that should have been done in demon boy's life that weren't done. He obviously did not have any form of real parenting.

This is a University, they are not kids, they are adults.

When I was at University, toughing up and thickening the skin was part of the education. Professors never hesitated to let us know that the world is tough, it is unfair and that if we could not handle University, there was no way in hell we could handle the professional world. They challenged our thoughts, our opinions, made us justify our arguments. This kids behavior would have resulted in immediate failure, not to mention the part about being the laughing stock of campus.
