A few points about running for the office of the President...
Just remember, it's all a show. Like H. Ross Perot working with Clinton to split the vote against Bush, as it later came out. And Ron Paul. Now it's Trump.

Even I find myself cheering Trump on, and I am well aware of the selection and not election of our Presidents. With that being said, here are some points to ponder and it is my hope to have other suggestions in this thread!

***First, change it from debate to Presidential Q & A. Please substitute this for the word debate in the following suggestions!

We may be heading to honest elections when the day comes that we have an open presidential debate that any one running can be in, no matter if it takes weeks. Shouldn't it take that long for a Presidential debate? Sports tournaments take longer than our presidential debates.

Shouldn't presidential contenders have the ability to withstand at least a week-long debate? This right here would weed out any quack running for the hell of it.

And don't give any party the questions beforehand, which ultimately make it to the candidate, so the candidates can prepare. They should know their shit. They should already be prepared.

As for the question askers, anonymous people. Or better yet, draw multiple names from a field of the people who scored in the top 15% in reading that year on the SAT. They are not yet involved (mostly) in politics, they are young, they will know how to read and most likely pronounce any words in any question.

We could have as many rooms as needed for the amount of candidates. Say, 10 candidates per room. Each of the rooms televised. Televise all the debates for months, make a c-span 2, if necessary. Each room televised multiple and equal times to allow anyone a chance to view them all. And equal times at each time slot.

Yes, that's a good amount of time and planning. As it should be for the deciding of a president.

No earpieces or mouthpieces. The candidates are in a sound proof room and go out to answer the question, each one answering the same question.

These suggestions are off the top of my head and could be adjusted. But they do show how controlled, coordinated, and planned the debates are currently. Which shows how little control we really have in electing a President.

This doesn't even get into electoral college, rigged voting machines, etc.
