The Socal gas market is its own market island due to CA gasoline specs and the refineries. It is much much more volatile than the rest of the u.s.
Prices on the pipeline went up $1/gal in two days because of delays in getting gasoline imports. No conspiracy. Just normal gasoline supply chain tightness in CA in the summer.
