Smoke column behind Maspero and Ramses Hilton. @degner's photos of Italian center [link to twitter.com (secure)] Italian center and part of the consulate were damaged. That was the biggest explosion I have heard in a while. My guess is the real target was the TV Building (Maspero) and Journalist Syndicate is near there too, but its guarded. People still haven't learned to look past the MSM hype during any major event and instead inform themselves. Quoting: krikin car bomb downtown, I don't think the Italian center was the target, read my previous post. Unless of course the MB and Terrorists want to attack the tourism sector. Have to wait for more details. People still haven't learned to look past the MSM hype during any major event and instead inform themselves. (OP) User ID: 69734106 Egypt 07/11/2015 01:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | HUGE explosion downtown #Cairo destroys the Italian center & part of the Italian Consulate. Sound was heard from a very long distance #Egypt Why would they blow up the Italian consulate at 6am on a Saturday? In Ramadan? #Cairo My first thought too...I guess, it puts us back in the MSM for negative news and scares off Tourists. If you go search hashtag Cairo you will find many pictures, I don't know how to link them here, some work and some don't. Italian embassy, consulate or centre? So it's not clear yet people, as I said, I don't know what the Italian Embassy looks like, never had to go there, and I don't know what building that is in the picture represents. But the area is downtown behind Maspero and Ramses Hilton People still haven't learned to look past the MSM hype during any major event and instead inform themselves. Meanwhile HUGE crowds and police tries to clear the area. Apparently they see parts of a exploded car and spots of blood. Great...100's of people contaminating a crime scene! (OP) User ID: 69734106 Egypt 07/11/2015 01:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've heard many booms and explosions the last few years, but except for the biggest ones when they shot the RPG's on the satellites, this was by far the loudest. I almost had a heart attack, this one woke everyone up across the town so you can have an idea. I don't know what this car was doing...I seriously doubt it was meant for the Italian Embassy, maybe they blew themselves up before they could reach their target, which could have been Maspero, the state tv building nearby. A week ago a car with terrorists and a bomb also blew themselves up before reaching their target when they hit a speed bump in the road. That's my speculation since they're known to not know how to handle their explosives and frequently blow themselves up. Quoting: Bes Maat The question going around now from everyone... I'm so pissed now You are joking right. Rome is the head of the catholic church. The stupid Terrorists that are sent to us have no fucking clue about these things. I'm guessing like I said in my previous post, the dumbasses were on their way to the state tv building (Maspero) and hit a bump or whatever and blew themselves up too early. Happens all the time, just a week ago too. MY guess, anyways its too early, I will know more by noon my time. Meanwhile will try to get a couple more hours of sleep.
