well.. I would happily share a Cave with a Bear or a Fox... as long as we had a mutual understanding of 'boundaries'.. haha... Imagine snuggling up to a bear in the middle of winter... no need for a sleeping bag then eh :)

Years ago we went to look at a cave for sale.

RUN!

All caves are made by RUNNING WATER.

Dank, wet, awful feel - probably crawling with reptilians.

um.. not the cave I exist in... its more like a hole in the sandstone... only gets wet in big storms... the ocean floods it then... 'kind of like mother nature coming in to clean it up for me ' ...

'reptilians' dont like 'cold wet places' they need 'warmth and sun' to move around.... your perception is flawed... though nuice warm cuddly bears like sleeping in caves... no reptilian would wanna wake up a bear in a cave.. trust me on that... big troubles...

What could possibly be "wrong" about sleeping in a cave?

Unless it has animal shit on the floor (especially bat shit), then you could breathe in a nasty fatal virus!

No they're not. Madame Pele made all the caves where I live. No reptiles - only an occasional centipede.

histoplasmosis is really only common in cavers that cave in africa, and those miners that mine stuff, etc, in that region. Pretty common when surveying caves (to create better maps of them for other speleological trips) to be stuck in one spot for 30-60 minutes. Most people will relax a bit while waiting if they aren't actively helping in the surveying.

There's nothing wrong with sleeping in caves, and especially larger, longer caves, which require more than just a simple day trip to get through it.

Re: Is it wrong to sleep in a cave?
If I had a cave, it would be remodeled for me. A nice fireplace, if it had a back cave water system, well great, there is my refrigerator, my drinking water, my generating electric system. You can keep it from flooding the place you would live. Doors, heavy doors and if it has a back cave entrance another heavy door. You do not want wild animals, bears will even hibernate under a house if there is a spot. You could find one with extra cave rooms and make opening for farm animals, Hydroponics adding skylights. All the things you need. You know the walls can be insulated against moisture, besides that it can have pipe to let out moisture, and to let in light. Just because it is already have finished does not mean you can not do some renovating. Nice big fire place. Or you can dig a furnace outside in the ground line it with heat holding rocks a way to bring up the ashes, and be sure to add the air pipes for the fire and the ones that heat to blow hot air into the cave. The other thing would be air conditioning and you more than likely would not need it. But one the off chance, dig a deep long trench add large pipe, put a top over it, and a cover over the pipe, this is to keep water out, find a nice shaded area curve up the pipe to get cool fresh air coming through. It to needs a top over it, you would not want stale water in the under the pipe.

Well, I could dream about redoing a cave a lot more but I do not own a cave, and unless things change, I never will. I know where to get a cave just not the money to buy. I will take donations! tounge

If what I think I have come across, I will be think battery power, for a while. I think it could work, not sure.

It has to do with number from 0 to nine across a box, and both negative and positive with the number at all the 0 points but the 0 is cut in half if you are doing it on a computer, like 0+123456789-0987654321 until you have the whole box with these at ever 0 point, up and down half the box is positive and half is negative and the 0 are the point of the rap points, I think I am thinking this right.

Ends and each zero point, 6 times or even numbers, you will have both -+ these would work like any battery but at the 0 point put earth magnets, if you know how to rap copper wire and the area to rap, also the side zero points across the box, the you fix it closed with a pipe and make as many as you want. Closed boxes and the pipe are to stringing them so they can be up and the attached to pipe in the ground north, south, east and west. Start small, and try it. you can do it. remember those + and - do not touch, solder these points and get some spray coating rubber if possible. Might, might not work but it seems like this is right. Get the magnet out of old hard drives. Copper wire old radios and motors have the right type. If you can figure this out, have fun.

I think half the point of the 'caveman' life is departing from the 'comforts' of life.. and becoming a bit more primal... less is more so to speak...

Fire is good, it is like 'free to air tv'...

I can see your point though... 'keeping the modern cave' style of living as a possibility... yet really... Winter here is not too bad... only 4 or so months of coldish weather.. bearable
