Body builders and weight lifters, I got a question...
If I added salt to my jug of water, while I work out and drink salted water, would that push the water into my muscles and promote faster muscle gain?

no. There are no secrets to building muscle. Work out, eat, and rest. The only legal supplement that will help you get stronger is creatine.

To 1 liter of water:

1/4 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate (set to alkaline)
1/4 teaspoon potassium chloride (potassium to offset and balance sodium)
1/4 teaspoon epsom salt (magnesium)

Doing this for over 10 years. Lifting 0500-0630 4 days a week.

Don't overdo the potassium chloride or you'll get heart arrhythmia after about 6 months. Potassium is very dangerous to overdo (4.5 grams per day and in nearly everything naturally) but just as deadly to not have enough and then sodium is too high.

It would make retain water not sure it would help you in anyway what's so ever.

If you are lookng for a 'pump' plus reduce DOMS and increase stamina I'd recommend taking a Creatine powder...I use it a few times a year when I'm bulking and it does the trick for me...and creatine also pushes fluid into your muscles...
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

You'll piss off your kidneys.

Always try to balance potassium with sodium, a bit more potassium than salt is best...moderation is the key

To be precise:

2.5 grams of sodium and 4.5 grams of potassium to every 4 liters of water. Balance, balance, balance.

A balanced sodium-potassium pump is a foundation for all other functions.

If you do not ingest a natural simple carbohydrate immediately following your workout, your body needs to replenish the burned off glycogen (sugar/fuel inside the muscle tissue). It will take it from the next easiest internal resource. Unfortunately that resource is to break down other muscle tissue that is not signaling for sugar replenishment. You body will cannibalize its own protein to get recover to the other muscles as fast as possible.

No, don't do that. Salt is already very prevalent in most American diets.

If you want to get more water into your muscles the vehicle isn't going to be salt, but carbohydrates.

This can be achieved with the supplement creatine. You can pack on 10-20 pounds of water into your muscles by using creatine strategically and daily.

You mix creatine with 100% juice, and then drink plenty of water daily.

This will also increase your capacity to push weight, thereby increasing your strength.

Please, don't start toy with loading your body up with salt. It will not achieve what you're trying to do. It will actually make you retain water subcutaneously which is between your muscle and your skin and that's nasty.

That's what happens to women when they get "bloated."

Moreover, there are real dangers with taking too much sodium. Also, you're a black dude so high-sodium intake is already something you want to avoid, in general, considering hypertension and other genetic considerations.

Re: Body builders and weight lifters, I got a question...
Creatine is a readily available supplement. Take like 5 grams a day, say an hour or so before you work out, and mix it with juice. Do that every day and be sure to drink lots of water every day.

You will gain muscle weight and get stronger. It's one of the few bodybuilding supplements that actually works.

If you take too much, and try to just load up on juice and creatine, it will make things "grainy" on the other end, if you know what I mean. A little goes a long way. Just use it consistently in lower dosages.

I've never heard of this, but just found some information on it. Are there any supplements that already have all this in one powder you can just measure and drink?

Also, how are the results compared to creatine?

No.

What it will do is replace some of the salts you lose during sweating.

Stop with the salt.
Eat clean...lots of protein
and bland foods.
Decide if you want to spend your life as a narcissistic body lover.
Its a lifestyle and as such demands sacrifice. Know that when you age all the sacrifice in the world won't matter.
The body is a fragile vessel..........and will rot...
It happens to even the best athletes ......and you are no better than them Age happens to everyone.
Good luck

This is good advice for cutting, not bulking.

When Jay Cutler is training, he eats loads of french fries and gallons of milkshakes.

Eat whatever you want until you get too fat, then cut out the shit.

But if you are skinny, eat. A lot. Whatever tastes good. Just work out and you will be fine.
