Colorado Weather

Cyclic changes. In the 1970's the weather was like it is now, green up till the 4th of July then hotter and drier through August. May wasn't the wettest month we have had but it was unique that 29 of the 31 days it rained or snowed.

We are usually much hotter by now but so far cooler than the normal that we have gotten used to in the 20 years.

Cyclic.

ok. i understand.

its weird though. we are used to humidity and mosquitos in indiana. but this does seem different. not that im not liking it. im loving it here. just different.

Been here 3 years, in Colorado if you don't like the weather, wait an hour.

I disagree it's not normal anywhere and the weather has never ever come from the South and SW here in Iowa. I have lived everywhere this is more than cyclic. Even the sun is turning more yellow again as the solar flare activity dies off

Typical humidity levels in Colorado are less than 20%. Right now, even with all the rain we have had, it is 43%. you are in the eastern part of the USA, that would seem almost dry - here it is too humid, at least for me.

but yea im from indiana so this weather is like the weather i look forward to everyday.

It is very sporadic. Snow then sunshine. Raining when it is sunny out without a cloud seen *liquid sunshine* and half hour later it will be whatever it wants.
No standard here.

I do agree with you but you also have to remember weather is cyclic. Part of what is going on is which just compounds the strangeness we are seeing. Most don't remember the 70's weather and even earlier.

2012 here was super hot. Then hottest it has been for Denver is 105. We had 3 of those tied records, two in a row. If I remember right there were 18 or more days of 100+ temps. This year we haven't even seen 90 so far.

We are going into a Solar Minimum is the scientists are to be believed. Weather gets cooler, there are more earthquakes and volcanic activity. If we go into a major Grand SM we are going to be in for a very rough time. Read about the climate sure the Maunder and Dalton Minimums. The Little Ice Age occurred during those times. Crops failed, people starved. The Thames froze. It isn't pretty.

If this is what is coming, well, you all need to be prepared.

Last year and this year we saw more rain and higher humidity. Before that it was drier, drought dry. Remember all the fires? Humidity was very low.

im trying to prepare myself for the worst. i know death is just a part of life. but i wander what the future holds. i just want to awaken as many people as i can before anything drastic happens.

No I haven't but will look him up. I have leaned towards a mini ice age coming like what was seen in the 1700's for 40 years. Crazy hippie teacher of mine in the mid 70's told our class that when we were in our mid 50's to early 60's we would see this happen. Well, I am in my mid 50's, so one shall see.

I don't have it yet, but we should all have at least 6 months of shelf stable food - 2 years would be better. It just isn't possible for many with the current state of our economy. My goal is 2 years of beans, rice, flour, salt, pepper, some spices, sugar, tea, powdered drink type mix, and oats. I was doing wheat but flour will last 10 years if stored and packed right and I am not trying to get this stuff to last for 20+ years. I rotate. Water is the hardest to store.

food might not even be able to survive. if it is as drastic as you say it is.

i dont think a heavy supply of food will keep you alive through something like this. if life wants your body in this life to pass on then it will.

not that i dont think having a plan is bad at all.

I've been here since '82. At that time in the summer we regularly got late afternoon thunderstorms and rain. And more tornados. That went away sometime in the 90-2010 years. The last few years seem much more like what I knew when I first came here. But starting next week we could go without rain for 2 months and no one would be surprised.
This is Denver metro area.

And I hate the humidity too. At least it's humid to us who are used to 10% and like it.

So true. I used to visit relatives in the Denver metro area in the late 60's and early 70's. I remember it being so much greener than it was when we moved her in the late 90's. The trip from northern NM up I-25 was green back then and that was usually during the summer time. When we moved here permanently it was much drier. Huge forest fires became common place. Water restrictions. Droughts. Now it is more like it was back then.

That said, they also were having more tornadoes back then also. The recent Berthound tornado and the others show this really is part of tornado ally!

We moved from East Texas to get AWAY from the humidity!!!! lol

we just came out for the mountains. even if everything looks like its dried up its still beautiful out here compared to indiana. and humidity is heaven here in colorado.

i work in a senior center in norther colorado.

i speak with natives who have lived in northern colorado for 90 + years.

i have been overhearing conversation and speaking with seniors who have never in their lives seen such strange, out of season weather.

Just saw this. East Texas. And it was 105 today. I'd love to be in the mountains!
