Whether we are aware of it or not, each of our biological and psychic functions is governed by the laws of rhythm. And depending on our way of life, on our thoughts, feelings and actions, we enter into greater or lesser harmony with this universal rhythm. Since the dawning of humanity, music and dance have represented man’s attempts to re-enter this universal rhythm, or to maintain his connection. This is why, at one time or another over the course of history, all cultures have considered music and dance to be of divine origin.
