Stanley Cup being staged for riots on Wednesday?

So you're telling me that if I bought tickets for hundreds of dollars and I live in ANY area other than Tampa, and want to watch the game in support of the opposing team, that I'll be ejected from the arena?

Setting up events to start a fan riot, or just completely asinine business maneuver?

When the tickets went on sale a couple days back, they sold out in seconds. However, 15 minutes later my roommate got a notification that some were now available. So, she bought 4 tickets from Ticketmaster app for $1500.00. Here's the kicker, did they flag the prior ticket holders due to living out of area and reject the purchase, how else would they know, or be rejected so quickly? What if I go to the game and wear a Blackhawks jersey, will they eject me from the arena, or even allow me to enter? And if I'm a season ticket holder and fly down for the game, purchased with a Florida credit card, will they boot me out and give me a full refund, plus the cost of travel expenses?

Such is the case with the manifest insecurities of the Tampa Bay Lightning as they prepare to welcome the Blackhawks for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night. “Welcome” is probably not the ideal word in this case, however, after one notices the stern language on the team’s Ticketmaster site articulating their limitations on purchases.

“Please note,” it reads, “Amalie Arena is located in Tampa, FL. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Florida. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside the selected area will be canceled without notice and refunds given.”

“Chase Club and Lexus Lounge ticket holders: Please note that for all 2015 NHL Playoff Games at Amalie Arena, only Tampa Bay Lightning apparel (or neutral) will be permitted in these club and adjoining seating areas. Fans wearing visiting team apparel will be asked to remove them while in these areas.”
