Regardless of whether there is - or isn't - anything going on, I can state categorically... 100% for sure... that it isn't down to a shift in the Earth's axis (well.. no more than the usual Chandler wobble... which is negligible)

I use a telescope on an equatorial mount, pretty much every night that the sky is clear - It is a permanent fixture, on a solid concrete pedestal, and I keep it polar aligned.
If the earth's axis was to shift by as little as a quarter of a degree, I would be able to see the discrepancy BY EYE through the scope when it is in the 'Home' or 'rest' position (and therefore pointed at the celestial pole)
Any discrepancy would also manifest itself as 'drift', over a period, while observing.
Actually, by watching for drift, it's possible to detect a discrepancy down to a tiny fraction of a degree.

I used it last night - saw nothing unusual when I looked through the scope, at the pole (part of my regular set-up routine) and detected no drifting while using the 'scope.

Ergo - Between about 11:30pm BST last night, and 3am BST this morning (02:00 UTC) 30th May - the Earth's axis was right where it should be.

Well, the temperatures dropped hard core. Today is super cold as well, still raining too. It's about 6 degrees Celsius

It's gonna be in the 60's today, right now it's thundering outside (Michigan). On Thursday it's going to be in the 20's-30's, then back to the 50's again.
