Do you think sinkholes might be partially caused by leaking water mains?

In towns yes, very often.

This one however is caused by faulty drilling to close to the edge of a salt plume.

According to this social media site all is well in Bayou Corne. Uh huh.

The following information is from the Bayou Corne Sinkhole site: "Erin Brochovich was wrong, and all that kind of talk did was convince a lot of people to needlessly leave their homes for good, jump on the lawsuit bandwagon, and earn a bunch of lawyers, way too many, a lot of money while the residents in the class action got screwed. NO one....John Boudreaux or Martin Triche or anyone else EVER advised anyone that their homes and land was useless. People were advised to evacuate until the danger was over, and the problem was resolved..........never to leave it or plan to leave it for good. Not one single official ever advised anyone to leave for good.
Yet, we still have the idiots that have never set one foot in this community calling it "a toxic, radioactive slurry, not fit for humans or animals.". It's people like this that added to the fear, panic and confusion many residents felt leading to decisions based on misinformation.
Once again, in almost 3 years there has not been one injury, not one fire or explosion, not one instance of methane being found in a home, not one documented detrimental health effect, not one toxic water reading, and only one false positive air reading. The sinkhole has grown minimally in the last year and a half, and the gas is almost gone. If anyone can show documentation and proof that this information is incorrect, then please step up with it."

Did they lower the pressure of the stored gas in the other cavities?

I was in the area not five days ago, everything seemed okay.
