confirmed reports that an older brother was guilty of sexually abusing younger ones in
his family. The damage to the younger children, the ridicule to the cause of Christ, the
shame of detailed publicity, and the scars to the life and reputation of the boy were indescribably
painful to the family and their friends. The boy did repent of what he had
done; now that time has passed, he was asked the following questions:
1. What were the early indications that you had the problem?
2. What conditions or circumstances contributed to the problem?
3. What steps could your parents have taken before it happened?
4. What could have been done to avoid it?
5. What teaching could have been given to each child to resist evil?
6. What factors in the home contributed to immodesty and temptation

What is really awful is that this family ever agreed to go on TV for a "reality" show in the first place. Did they think this would never be exposed?? Especially when the Oprah show with them was canceled?

Here's this family showing the world how "godly" and perfect they are when they had this scar lurking in their background. Their followers must feel so betrayed.

But saddest of all, because they chose to put their family on TV with this skeleton in their closet, these poor kids have to relive all over again the pain they suffered at the hands of this disturbed molester. Only this time, it's SO much worse because the entire world knows about it. I really feel badly for all of those children.

The parents NEVER should have accepted a television contract. They are hypocrites enablers and idiots.

Well I was speaking generally. The question was about the general homeschool teachings that have been reported as being given by this family.

I was in a waiting room with several women and one woman had a 4 or 5 year old girl. That girl was doing everything to get my attention, starting with smiling, but after I engaged her for a few minutes including showing her how to read what it said on her toy bag, and then I went back to doing someting else, expecting the mother to take over with her own kid. The mother did nothing, so the little girl tried harder with me, including sitting upside down on the cushioned chair so her (covered of course) crotch was sticking up. This made me pay deliberately less attention to her on purpose, but she already knew how to get a man's attention.

I remember a girl who was 8 or 9 who certainly had developed breasts in my elementary school, though that was long ago when early puberty was less common. At that age you had better believe that some girls act out strategically.

The fucking pettiness of modern Americans is off the chart.

I'd bet a judgmental fuck tard like you doesn't have many redeeming values, and you hide all your inadequacies, immoralities, sexual kinks and less than stellar behavior behind the excuse that everyone is "flawed," except for all the mother fu*kers you don't like, who suddenly are judged by you with an impossible standard of morality.

I might have problems, but I would shoot myself in the head before I hurt a kid. And if my child was victimizing his younger siblings, I'd have the little monster removed to protect the rest like a responsible parent.

I certainly wouldn't try to make money off of my 'purity' at the expense of the welfare of my kids.

Child molesters aren't fixable, and the only ones who would defend them are those that either are in on it or who would enable it. Enablers should be lined up and next to the chomos.

In a single generation we could get rid of all of them, and as child molestation is a crime largely brought upon by being victimized at some point, we might even be able to totally eradicate it from America in less than half a century.

Would you try to make it right and do what you could so they did not do it again?

Or would you report them to the police so they could have a record?

Expecting to control all that among what is a fairly large number of children, in a house with doors that close etc., is not easy. Often one finds out about stuff that happened later.

This thing apparently happened among these children, it happened in the past and will happen in the future in other families. It's a part of human nature that we control imperfectly to whatever our current social standards are.

You may get sex as I think you said earlier, but I am fairly sure you have not raised children.

"Abuse," can mean nearly anything from touching over clothing, to touching without clothing.

Sex crime? That's a stretch. More like inappropriate sexual curiosity, rather than aggravated rape. Typical American hypocrisy over sex. Give your kids complete access to 24 hr a day free porn on their bedroom computer then act shocked when you learn there is touching going on.

Oh yeah, lets attack home schooling now especially since that is the last way to keep your kids from being vaccinated in some states. The agenda is clear.

And what about next generation's child abusers? There's no evidence I know of that it's a hereditary trait. I think it's supposed to be related to sexual desire, and that has persisted generation after generation in humans. Otherwise the generations would dwindle and stop.

What you call child molestation is at least partly a social construct. In other societies there are child-brides. Puberty means a girl can become a mother. Some get right to it, some wait 20 years. The former is a way to have a larger family, of course, and the idea may be woven into the teachings of the religion followed by this family.

Who says they never thought it would be exposed?? They weren't advertising it, but they aren't denying it either! They don't walk around saying they're Godly and perfect at all, in fact, they admit their mistakes and believe in God to make them better.

They are HUMAN, all humans make mistakes. Why shouldn't they have gone on television? I'm not sure about now but I know that when the show first started, they put a ton of restrictions on the film crew, they would only film a few days a week and only a couple hours at a time, so that it did not completely interrupt their family. And they even stated then that if at any point the show starts being something negative rather than positive, that they would quit doing it.

They do not NEED the show to survive, they were doing just fine before without it. Without any government assistance as well. When the show first aired, half of the kids already had braces on their teeth.. that isn't cheap! They built a 7,000 square foot house themselves!

I don't feel bad for the children, I'm confident that they are all just fine! I feel bad for our damn society that thinks it's okay to publicly humiliate this family for something that a CHILD DID so many years ago! The Duggar's will overcome all of this, this will not break them.. the media agenda behind this is to bring them down.. when in reality, all it's going to do is bring them closer to each other and to God.
