Should all the Duggar Kids/Young Adults be Removed from their Home

I think a very in-depth investigation should go on and if anything substantive is discovered they should be out. Especially the kids that fit his victim profile.

Also, I think the authorities should look very closely into what's going on at Josh Duggar's home with his small children.

Clearly there was a concerted effort to keep this information under wraps, which is a form of psychological abuse in and of itself. Tell the victims to shhh while forcing them to live with their abuser.

As I said in a previous post in another thread, sexual predators are often created through being abused themselves. Clearly there is no air of openness in that home where anyone would feel comfortable with speaking out - it's pretty funny this story didn't break until the statute of limitations had run out. Seems pretty contrived to me and reeks of a horrible level of patriarchal control.

This is what happens in households where dad's word is unquestioned law. Kids need to know they are safe to seek help when the abuse is coming from within the home - where it most often does.

I think you're right and I would like to see Jana and Jinger be allowed to get some help along with all the other kids. However, I do believe that would open a 1000 cans of worms starting with papa Jim Bob.

I saw a few minutes of that show and had that gut ruroh feeling. I am not shocked by the abuse revelations. Maybe those older girls will say something now.

Today’s question comes directly out of the recent case in Texas of a Quiverfull by adoption father who admitted to raping his daughters and is now going to jail for 37 years. Even though he’s admitting to harming their daughters with years of physical sexual abuse this man, Travis Yates, has his wife standing by him like he did nothing wrong

It is odd. And Oprah is supposedly behind it. It's been a busy work week so I haven't caught much news except here this morning so not really sure what's going on.
As far as teen hormones and sexuality, I've never seen the show and don't know what or how they might discuss these things with their children.

Interesting the support for families who home school, don't vaccinate or let their kids live in squalor.

But the Duggars!

Forcibly remove ADULTS?? are you serious?

Oprah? Interesting. Do you know how she is involved?

It looks like they have several under 12 years old.

So as long as you vaccinate and have a clean house you can molest kids all you want?

Of course adults shouldn't be removed, but they should be interviewed extensively. If it's discovered they are covering up child molestation, they should be charged next to the molester(s).

Get a life and get over it. Jana is nearly 25. If she wanted to leave tomorrow.... she could. How many adult kids who are college graduates live in their parents house? You? You're likely in the basement wearing underwear playing world of tanks or something - wasting time reading GLP. Are they making an economic choice to save money? Or, "gosh, I can stay at mom and dads and help out with the house while I look for a job"

The dad took him to the police - how is this a cover up?

The officer was a friend who did not investigate further or report it and by the way was himself later arrested for owning child pornaography.

Because it's never been disclosed to the people who pay their bills by watching their (now pulled) show.

It was not mentioned by anyone, ever, until the statute of limitations ran out.

Dad knew he was a minor, that the records would be sealed, so he had no worry that the information would go public at the time. He also knew that EVENTUALLY people WOULD find out, so he'd better cover his bases.

He didn't even take him for real treatment, he sent him to a child molesting witch doctor.

He raised those girls in the same household as little fucking pervert.

He certainly never turned it into a teachable moment, a way to empower other victims. He kept it as quiet as he could to protect that $$.

This is such a horrible situation.
I feel bad for his wife Ana who is expecting baby #4 in a month. What will she do now?
I feel bad for all the kids.
I really hope that this is not just the tip of the iceberg and mote will be found out.
What about the girl the Josiah just started courting. I'm sure she will bail. She thought she was marrying into a money windfall (she seems very fake)

The dad took him to a family friend after ONE year had past. That family friend police officer is now serving a 56 year jail term for child porn. Good ol' boys system--NOTHING was done.The first thing his dad did was talk to the elders of the church who are now in the mist of their own sex offences. Josh did NOT receive any type of counselling but sent to a family friend to do 3 months of labor working on building a new house. The girls who were the victims received NO counselling of any kind.

Those girls don't have a choice of leaving the home. Even Jana is being abused and forced against her will to stay. She doesn't have the resources or any help to get out. This family needs to be investigated by social services because having a clean home doesn't make a good parent. Especially if your daughters have been sexually molested and the parents do NOTHING to help them with this life long pain.

Let's have an "very in-depth investigation" about everything that happens in YOUR house. Or maybe you haven't even gotten that far.

I admit I have not been following this "story", if it is indeed a story. What crime did he commit, or what suspicion is there that rises to the level of probable cause?

Should social services investigate whenever there's a suspicion that a home isn't good?

If we investigated every home where there was a problem, every family would be under investigation. You probably don't see anything wrong with that.

So this guy should investigated to the nth degree because he didn't tell all to you on a TV show.
