Quoting: Bridge of Sighs Thread: Thought I'd something more to say... Much Love! I am intrigued by all your collective work. It's a lot to wrap your head around but I have been on that belief of a past major Earth destructive event. I also believe we are at the start of the next major destructive world change. Thank you for sharing your perspective with everyone here. Our cataclysmic event is coming from outer space and is already underway. This has plagued since High School, and now I am 58 years old. During that time, I have read numerous authors. It truly is all pretty amazing. Swedish physicist Hannes Alfven discovered a new kind of energy in the 1950's that is actually a combination of magnetic, electrical, and physical forces. "The Physical World is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, coated in a conundrum, basted with a paradox and garnished with uncertainty" |

Since the end of 2012, moreover, total polar ice extent has largely remained above the post-1979 average. The updated data contradict one of the most frequently asserted global warming claims – that global warming is causing the polar ice caps to recede. this ^^^^^ Why is the AGW crowd always getting busted for lying but people still keep buying into there bullshit SAGD |

Quoting: Bridge of Sighs No, actually he didn't. Various pseudo-scientific scammers will tell you about amazing discoveries, new forms of energy etc. but they're just making stuff up to sell their books and DVDs. Alfven made significant conributions to science, and although some of his research was disputed for a while, he was eventually proven correct. None of it involves any "new kind of energy" however. Something worth remembering - pseudo-science is not real science!! You can't build a computer, design a bridge or create new materials using pseudo-science. Pseudo-science can't explain planetary motion, continental drift or quantum effects. Pseudo-science fails at every challenge made to it. |

No sir, you fail to see beyond what you have been taught all these years. Time to pull the blinders from your eyes my friend. The first recorded use of the word magnetohydrodynamics is by Hannes Alfvén in 1942: Quoting: Wiki"At last some remarks are made about the transfer of momentum from the Sun to the planets, which is fundamental to the theory. The importance of the magnetohydrodynamic waves in this respect are pointed out." The ebbing salty water flowing past London's Waterloo Bridge interacts with the Earth's magnetic field to produce a potential difference between the two river-banks. Michael Faraday tried this experiment in 1832 but the current was too small to measure with the equipment at the time, and the river bed contributed to short-circuit the signal. However, by a similar process the voltage induced by the tide in the English Channel was measured in 1851. [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Hannes Olof Gösta Alfvén (Swedish: 30 May 1908 – 2 April 1995) was a Swedish electrical engineer, plasma physicist and winner of the 1970 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). He described the class of MHD waves now known as Alfvén waves. He was originally trained as an electrical power engineer and later moved to research and teaching in the fields of plasma physics and electrical engineering. Alfvén made many contributions to plasma physics, including theories describing the behavior of aurorae, the Van Allen radiation belts, the effect of magnetic storms on the Earth's magnetic field, the terrestrial magnetosphere, and the dynamics of plasmas in the Milky Way galaxy. Okay, all the snowy cold weather was caused by Artic warming per this article. I do remember days when the highest temperature were reported from Alaska. Do poles have to physically shift or could weather patterns shift away from the poles (is this the pole reversal in progress)? We need to think differently from black and white to grey to see it. :ohlook: |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69362569 United Kingdom 06/08/2015 01:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not oops. It's explained in the article. The underlying mechanism is fairly well understood, says Tony Worby, a sea ice specialist at the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre. "We know that the changing Antarctic sea ice extent is very largely driven by changes in wind,” he says. “In turn, we know those changes are driven by the depletion of ozone in the stratosphere as well as increasing greenhouse gases at the surface." The new wind patterns blow Antarctic sea ice away from the continent and then more ice forms close to shore. This doesn't occur in the Arctic because the ocean is hemmed in by land masses. And "it's quite a lot windier around Antarctica than in the Arctic," Quoting: sciencemagDid you even read the article? Or maybe you did, and hoped nobody else would loo past the headline. As far as I can see there's disinformation on both sides of the deabate, but baltantly misrepresenting facts isn't going to bolster your position... |
