Why does vodka get me drunk faster than other similar hard liquors, like whiskey - whisky?

There is a reason they are called distilled spirits.

Vodka kills more brain cells than other drinks.

I'm repeating professional advice given to a habitual vodka drinker. Don't shoot the messenger :-)

The same "experts" would probably kill you by forcing you to go cold turkey.

Well, let me say, I am also repeating professional advice when I say the reason that vodka is more harmful than other spirits is because the hangovers are much less brutal....Hence, you, err, I meant your habitual drinker example will tend to drink more frequently.

Would it hurt an alcoholic to just stop. I never heard this before.

Your right if they are the same proof then it shouldn't unless you drink the Vodka faster.

Seriously though, a doctor said this. She was an alcoholic. I'm talking vodka for breakfast. Many sad moments attached. This may annoy some people. She just had a liver transplant :-(

An alcoholic doctor. What a mental picture! Seriously though, I'm a professional type myself, and have met many very bright people....the sad thing is many of the most intelligent ones were drunks...usually vodka was their choice....We're talking about people with IQ's of 180 or higher...

So, I don't really buy into the case that it destroys the brain....I just don't see that...if that were the case, Australia would be a continental sized zoo by now. Ireland too. (sorry)

I can't remember my dreams for 2 weeks after getting drunk on vodka.

I get no hangover on vodka.

I get a BIG hangover on whisky.
