I call bull shiot on this....The IFE and the flight thrust computers are not connected. There is no way to hack into the trust management computers let alone fly and airplane sideways. Not without a very stiff cross wind anyway.

Sorry I didn't type this right....What I meant to say is the data cables from the aircraft flight side to the IFE are only one way data cables and lack the ability to carry instructions back to the flight side. Just like there are two different types of data cables you can hook up to your computer, one which can carry data both ways and one that can only carry data one way.

Well, the entertainment system is connected to satellite comms. And navigation system is connected to satellite comms. Navigation system connected to main controls. Voila. Hack the satellite comms and you can access the main controls.

The fix sounds easy; have duplicate satellite comms systems so there is no interconnects....

IF he did it, he did it WITH a wire connected from his notebook to a box under a seat that connects several monitors.
There is actually NO evidence it can be done via wifi on the plane and certainly not from the ground.

He suggested he throttled one engine up enough to get the plane to yaw a bit. Not much. A bit.
I bet it was more along the lines of him claiming he could do it or maybe he said he did but was lying.
Could he do it? Yeah, I think he might could.
But what he described would be perceptible to him because he knew he was doing it.
But if you add 4 percent thrust to one engine it would be hard for anyone else to notice.

I think what he is saying is he increased the power to an engine on one side only and this caused the plane to yaw and continue at the same altitude and pitch, but with the nose yawed to the side, with the autopilot keeping the pitch level and altitude maintained.
