A driver and a passenger hacker can easily eavesdrop into a vehicle near by. Can even respond through their speakers. Along with any other functions that are triggered remotely, electronically over a network. Example, On-Star can unlock doors. SO can a hacker. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 69246900 United States 05/16/2015 10:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27861407 Where did you find that info and if it is true it is easy to fix . Read the application for a search warrant. FBI guy states that the hacker told him specific planes that he knew were vulnerable and listed the planes 737 757 and airbus a-320. Ya im reading that right now im baffled by the work of Hugo Teso . How can Boeing and Airbus be that stupid just wow. I still don't believe that Robert cause he would have to be able to get so many inside information it is close to impossible. But Hugo Teso is legit . The thing is the exploit is really hard to get by if you don't work for the plane compagny. NOT hard to get. Teso's slide deck for a presentation. Coming up next, those self-driving cars and semi-trucks. What could go wrong though, I mean how often do computer glitches, crashes, viruses and hacking really happen? Oh, wait, ... Be the first on your block to die of a lost packet. |

CosmicSuperLove User ID: 69169372 Canada 05/16/2015 10:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I feel that one way this can be prevented, is by establishing some kind of pass phrase by the captain of the air craft. This is to control all communications to air craft systems. Each time the plane takes off, a new pass phrase is made. This can be changed only if the pilot is not in control of the plane, for any reason, by trusted people in the ground. A strong encryption system can also help here. |

So in essence the hacker exposed the nerve. Clearly they will patch this one bug while I am sure many will remain. There is more than blackhats in the world There is always a way in. The only way to secure any system is to stay one step ahead and even that is not always possible |

Hell, go look inside a F22 raptor...it's tech is considered SO secure through obscurity because It's based on 1989 IBM code, and most modern military jamming/hacking equipment doesn't know how to obstruct code that old. |

It would cost them nothing to have a separate network. Most likely they share the mobile network with their ACARS system and the WiFi in order to not pay the expense of having dual systems. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 44860960 United States 05/16/2015 11:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yanno I have a anti-hacker tech I want to develop so these sorts of events are history not daily events. So I looked around for investors. Mind you I do not have a prototype built as that costs way too much for average people these days. Everything was going ok until the one question was asked "Why has nobody else done this yet?" My answer was simple but investors can be so skeptical and so no funding. Until someone gets a grip and realizes the solution to this is not going to come from Intel, Microsoft, Apple or Google - this sort of thing will keep happening. Sad. |
