That's the claim made by Roberts and the cybersecurity firm he co-founded, One World Labs. "I was probably a little more blunt than I should have been," Roberts told CNNMoney. "I'm just so frustrated that nothing is getting fixed." United (UAL) deferred all questions to the FBI. The agency has not yet provided comment on the matter. He hacks planes? Roberts' job is to find weaknesses in computer systems -- especially airplanes. For years, he explored whether a malicious hacker could take over a pilot's controls -- and how they'd do it. He found that a hacker could theoretically do it from a passenger seat. Every chair has a tiny computer and screen, and those are plugged into the airplane's CAN bus. Every vehicle has one. Think of it like a spine. It's how the brain communicates with the limbs. It's how your car accelerator talks to your engine's fuel injector. But -- if it's not built just right -- it also means your plane passenger seat is ultimately connected to the pilot's cockpit. " ... .... .....well, that seals the deal, I'm never flying again. ^^ HARDCORE shill who supposedly was an 'expert' on all airplane systems showed up in that thread , until I debunked all his statements and finally had to ban him. IF IT HAPPENED and the guy wasn't bragging/lying to the FBI, he did it by connecting an ethernet cable with a modified connector into a box entertainment system box under a seat. sdot and wirred both have links to the search warrant that explain a lot. Nope it can happen on wi fi wifi actually IS completely separate from flight control and inflight entertainment. So are baby monitors. :TOMABANEFOX: It's more humane this way ya know, or burn on totem pole. Choice is yours. |

I suppose its don't let a crisis go to waste... they allow things to only be changed for the worser so they can use the excuse of security to take more freedoms and treat everyone like a kid with no trust in them....it only takes one to fuck it for everyone else and the way the world is going, its third world and no further. |

Perfected it and can down any plane, crash any train, probably take control of any modern car and crash it... Then just spin the web that the pilot, engineer, or driver was a whack job... Less messy that way... |

Nope it can happen on wi fi wifi actually IS completely separate from flight control and inflight entertainment. So are baby monitors. cameras that people outside the LAN can easily view are generally all connected to windows computers that are connected directly to a modem, none of which has a worthy firewall. If there is a router, keep in mind that 70 percent of all the routers that have ever been sold are KNOWN to be vulnerable to simple hacking. |

But Hugo Teso is legit . The thing is the exploit is really hard to get by if you don't work for the plane compagny. |
