He found that a hacker could theoretically do it from a passenger seat. Every chair has a tiny computer and screen, and those are plugged into the airplane's CAN bus. Every vehicle has one. Think of it like a spine. It's how the brain communicates with the limbs. It's how your car accelerator talks to your engine's fuel injector.

But -- if it's not built just right -- it also means your plane passenger seat is ultimately connected to the pilot's cockpit. "

The idea that both Boeing AND Airbus made the same
mistake of not completely separating flight control network
and entertainment network kind of beggars belief.

wifi actually IS completely separate from flight control and inflight entertainment.

Where did you find that info and if it is true it is easy to fix .

FBI guy states that the hacker told him specific planes that he knew were vulnerable and listed the planes
737 757 and airbus a-320.

Instead of prosecuting this kind of hacker, the govt
should employ them and pay attention to what they

I'd like to think the hacker did not actually change or replace any code on the airplane.
If he did, he's done.
He can't explain that.

Adrian Lamo, "the homeless hacker" did every one of his
hacks by doing nothing but typing in the URL field/box
of a web browser.
When he found a database that he knew shouldn't be available to the world he would call the front desk of the big assed
corporation and tell them about it and offer to tell them
how to fix it.
They, the fbi and the corps, tried to get him on record
asking for money in exchange but he never asked for anything,
except one time he suggested he could sure use some warm clothes and a notebook better than his which was like 6 years old.
He's a very interesting fellow.

I've been saying this was possible ever since MH370 and then the DOD went on 60 Minutes a few months ago showing how easy it was to hack a car with a cell phone.

Some how I knew this could happen. Computers are great, but fuckable.

And if the plane went down, he would have been guilty of murder. I can't wait for him to consider driving one of the new cars that have computer chips in them and someone hack his car while he is driving and see how he likes it.
