How do you know if there are cameras in your hotel room, or AirBnB apartment/studio?

I was just thinking about this. There are plenty of creeps out there who do this in different locations. This would be like hitting the jackpot for someone who is into those type of things.

This is very likely to be happening as you are reading this.

The only place we are safe in is where we have full control of the situation.

There is also the hacking of these devices (by regular Joes and the government) that we already have in our homes, but that's a whole other level of creepiness.

Re: How do you know if there are cameras in your hotel room, or AirBnB apartment/studio?
There's already a camera and live mic everywhere you bring your phone, laptop, tablet, car, etc. If it's not your cell phone listening, it's the guy sitting next to you on the bus, etc. They track you by letting your phone ask every wifi network if it's your home network that you want to automatically connect to. That's how they know it's you, where you are, what your phone number is, where your family lives, how often you take a shit, etc. etc.

whatever

That's the government, it's not as creepy as some weirdo that you are renting an apartment/room from on AirBnB or some employee of a hotel that likes to see people undress.

They have wifi telemetry now they can put things on the other side of the wall to watch your actions within your hotel room...now.

2 thunks on the wall, ka-thunk, ka-thunk, that's them putting the stuff on the wall, might be AP, might be DHS, might be FBI or USmarshals, but they do it now. No privacy anymore, sorry. DHS watches you masturbate.

Lol, the government is made-up of creepy individuals exploiting their power for personal gain, with complete protection from the legal system. This is a million times worse, because at least cops hate creepy hoteliers and will make an effort to protect you from them.

Re: How do you know if there are cameras in your hotel room, or AirBnB apartment/studio?
I used to have a device that could detect electromagnetic radiation.

It was supposed to be able to detect hidden cameras.

I tested it on desktop computer screens and flat screen TVs.

There was a spot toward the side where the radiation was particularly strong, on every TV and computer screen, no matter what the brand or size. As far as I could tell, the spot wasn't in front of any obvious functioning part, but I didn't try taking the screens apart, or consult any technicians.

I just presumed they had a camera behind the screen. I mean, what do you think? Would they do that?

Women said they had found cameras in bathrooms with these instruments.

It was the size, weight, and design of a typical key fob, electronic car locker.

Sometimes, while I'm at work with my cell phone in my front pocket, I will feel heat emanating from it. It gets pretty hot and the battery, that day, will not last at all. I wonder if what is causing it to do that......is it being access remotely by someone? hmmmmmm.

Haha. That's funny. I was so paranoid one time that I was covering holes in my room. Check for holes in the wall. I know cameras can get small. How small do cameras get these days? Tupac-TN

A small piece of gaffers tape on my camera phone works, they can't hear or see anything. As far as hotel rooms, that small little dot on the wall/ceiling that u think is a nail. It's probly a camera.

I read that alot of the hotel rooms in Vegas have cameras in them. Maybe in the big Jessica Simpson thread? Probably have the videos available for sale overseas on the street!

Your phone can see IR.
See it for yourself:

Grab a TV remote and hold it up to the phone's camera (it doesn't need to be recording).

Push a button on the remote while looking on the phone's screen.

That light you just saw on the remote was infrared.

Use this trick in a dark room and you will see if there's any infrared lights in there. Same with outdoor automatic light triggers, security cameras, etc.

I've read about people with information saying that all new TVs have cameras built in behinde the screen. You'd think it's impossible - techs or someone from the factory would open their mouth... Unless even they don't know about it.

Re: How do you know if there are cameras in your hotel room, or AirBnB apartment/studio?
I stayed in one hotel room with big glass sliding doors out onto the lawn which led to a small stream. On the other side two or three people were lying down but were partially hidden by the flowers and shrubs but I was sure they had camera gear and were looking at all the hotel rooms. My girlfriend was a bit of an exhibitionist so we put on a bit of a show for them. She was incredible looking so I'm pretty sure they were happy.

Re: How do you know if there are cameras in your hotel room, or AirBnB apartment/studio?
c'mon, start googling buddy. they make devices that cast "white noise" signals that create dead zones for wifi, em, even flir busting tech is out there now.

i can tell you the dead space generators are awesome. creates a dead zone where phones wont work, wifi, shortwave, even my motorola 3 and 5 mi handhelds were useless.

cameras.. even the pinhole cameras can be detected by handheld sensor equipment that gives audibles on even micro capacitors, wave it like a wand. old school kremlin bug detectors use to work this way. wave a damn em wand around the room looking for bugs, same principle only today electronics are harder to detect due to the micro amount of power needed to run these things...

get digging. it would be a fun project anyhow to familiarize your self with the latest in civilian spy toys.
