Just because symptoms led to removal, doesn't necessarily mean the little appendage was the source of the symptoms. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46317298 Present to ER with symptoms, follow protocols = surgery= money. Ask about the condition of the appendix when it was removed. Inflammation doesn't count, inflammation of any part of intestinal tract is common. ask about infection and necrosis. This is my question as well..You'll need a histologic confirmation from the pathology department where the girls had their surgery. Overall appendicitis is misdiagnosed in 20% of cases, but when it comes down to women in their childbearing years, the rate goes up to 33%. |

Blast from the past, I guess... though I go by "Divergent" now....I used to be scarbedazzles, or "Scar" on here. Quoting: Divergent I'm faced with a situation that has me upset and completely confused. My oldest daughter who lives at home got appendicitis one month ago... no biggie, right? Fast forward 3 weeks....daughter #2 living at home, ends up in the ER with the same thing...they removed it also... emergency surgery.... Took a trip to visit family and saw my eldest daughter and grands....a week ago. Oldest grand, a girl, is having her appendix out today now...... huge WTF!!!!! I've tried to research it but it seems unprecedented. Any thoughts??? Parasites? |

Since I don't live in the US, I'm not familiar with protocols in your health care system. I do however work at a pathology department in Iceland and here it is standard procedure to send all removed appendices to pathology in order to confirm appendicitis. What tests did the doctors in the ER perform? Did a blood test confirm infection? Did they all have vomiting or diarrhia and if not did they rule out an ovarian cyst gone bust? |

Quoting: beeches I had mine out in my mid-twenties. Only one in my family. it's strange but we were talking about it today. . . . I don't believe there is any common thing except genetics, and the appendix is not programmed to give out at a certain age. I would not worry - just wonder what the universe is trying to tell you . . . It's caused by constipation, you should of took a poop. |

Well if they did a scan and they were vomiting, then my guess would be that it is more likely that this was indeed appendicitis rather than something else. Honestly..there are so many things that we have put down as possible causes for appendicitis that it is impossible for you to try and hunt down a cause. What we do know for certain is that for some reasons, appendicitis runs in families. I don't think you need to be worried about this and I would think all this comes down to is coincidence that this happened the way it did. |

They wer probably all constipated and the hospital saw you fell for it the first time. Wash rinse repeat. Like an atm that just keeps buying their allopathic bullshit. Get a second opinion next time. Follish to go to the hospital nowadays unless you have a broken limb or gunshot wound. |

User ID: 68425176 United States 05/06/2015 10:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have wondered about parasites! I had to have my appendix taken out in Maui about 10 years ago and before it got to that point, I was having stomach issues for a long time. I really noticed it after I started drinking coffee- not sure how that comes into play or if it does at all. For about a year after my appendix was out, everything was all good, but the weird stomach burning started up and by accident I came upon a parasite pill ( I think it's called Paranil?). Gave it a go and after 4-5 days, no stomach trouble. I take them for about a week once a year now, just to be on the safe side. I eat a lot of salads and raw fruit, do you kids/relatives also? One last thing, did their stomachs hurt around their belly button area? My friend's son had a stomach ache and I told her to get him to lay down and press lightly on his right side- if it hurt near his belly button, it was most likely an appendix. That is exactly what happened with him and he went to the dr, straight to the hospital to have it removed. Let us know what you find out. |
