The Billion Tree Campaign - Plant for the Planet
"If you are thinking a year ahead, sow a seed.
If you are thinking ten years ahead, plant a tree."
Chinese poet, 500 BC

Today I have participated in a project which idea was started in 2007 by a 9 year old student from Germany and planted a tree which was gifted to me. I have also registered 3 trees i've planted last month on my property.
I would like to introduce this project here and ask readers to participate if you like hf

Nice. I planted one 7 years ago. Not sure if it made it tho.

Great thread!

I planted all the Ogham trees for Ireland last year along with a multitude of fruit trees and shrubs.

Ogham trees are the indigenous trees that were here before other species were introduced. I am trying to create a wildlife corridor.

If I had the opportunity I would replant the whole country.

We need to grow back the planet for future generations of animals including us humans. Not for commercial benefit but for humanity in general.

Of course, everyone looks at me like I'm oversensitive and soft but far from it, I'm doing this to proactively inspire change.

It's my way of giving the finger to the pyramidal institutions on this globe.

I've planets about 800 trees in my lifetime. I've owned several properties over the years. I ordered the trees from my state. They are very cheap. Mostly white pine and Norway spruce. I plant them in staggered rows for privacy and as a windbreak. Of course wildlife love them. There is something spiritual about trees. Nice post.

I love what you are doing!
My hubby (he is Irish) got some land near dublin and he is planning on planting a forest there. He read about some gov. program where the forest is planted and taken care of for you in the first couple of years.
Since we are currently living in germany he thought it a great idea to get a forest on some of the land.
I have to find out more about that project yet

The tax payer is the Government and Ireland can't afford to be subsidising laziness.

Buy some trees from future forests in cork and plant them yourselves.

Stop looking for hand outs. Don't you know that Ireland is on its knees................

Re: The Billion Tree Campaign - Plant for the Planet
I have cut down about 1200 trees mostly pine and planted 2000 mostly black walnut. Really though screw the planet as it is just a rock in space. I planted for man as the planet is for mans use. There is no such thing as 'Mother Earth'. There are no 'Ecosystems'. Nature is a system of chaos where the strongest and fittest survive, period. Glorifying nature is a religion used by governments like the Nazi to diminish man and his God given rights. The purpose is to put man on the same level as rocks and trees so to marginalize his rights. A man thus lowered is easier to subjugate. Don't be a tool to your own downfall, support and fight for the rights of free men.

There is a lot of spirituality around trees.

The Druids have a lot of tree lore in their history.

Perhaps there is a Druid in you.

If that's the way you see things....

I would like to challenge your point of view though. I would like to see how long you would survive without "Mother Earth" or nature or anything else you don't want to call it.
Lets call it Oxygen from the Trees, Water from the Sky, Food from the earth, and Fire from your spirit.

If we don't take care of it all we are shooting ourselves in the foot and playing into the hands of the Money Men that perceive that they have "power" based on a bank balance that means nothing.

Trees are called "watchers" in the book of Daniel. Absalom was killed by a tree in the old testament. Victory in the historic "Battle of the Trees" was attributed to the trees who the soldiers swore helped them in battle.
