Oregon coast.. major die off

The same has happened all up and down the west coast. Millions and millions of these "by-the-wind sailors" jellyfish have washed ashore. But this has happened in cycles many times in the past, when huge swarms of them get blown too close to the coast. They are generally alive when they get washed shore, but then quickly dry out and die.
