I want to build the H20 to Hydrogen/Oxygen water to gas splitter. Been looking for any pipe ends, lids.. esp: with screw threads. I'd like to get my own die-threader for wider pvc pipes. I got some short waste & water pvc pipes left over from diy jobs. I'd like to get a clear plastic pipe too, but how to 'thread them?' Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44329723 Thread them just like metal... Just make sure you buy the correct diameter. Get a thread chart. It's pretty simple It's simpler to glue on the threaded fittings. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. I thought about that, using pvc glue esp: made for that, but I'd like to be able to gain access by un-screwing & re-screwing during set up & repairs... otherwise it would be like trying to get a constructed ship out of a bottle.. & then there's whether glue is strong enough to withstand pressure.. or how much pressure. Mind you.. plastic pipes do cope quite well with pressure inside them. London streets has just had a massive spaghetti of plastic pipes laid, from all different sizes & colours, to replace water, gas, leccy. All those old Victorian pipes had smashed & broken. In fact, the old Roman sewers & viaducts are still in great condition, but can't blame the Romans for not having access to plastic pipes. Queen Victoria was stupid in thinking ceramic pipes would last. Thank goodness for plastic. I wonder if pipes can be made out of hemp? I like the way they're so flexible. With a little heat & pressure they can be bent without kinking, tho' am sure there's a designed & dedicated plastic pipe bender. I like different coloured piples too. |

And Sch 80 & 120 Also check out CPVC Reminder, if you are using PVC exposed to the elements, Coat well with UV resistant paint, keeps PVC from becoming prematurely brittle, which destroys it ! Grey CPVC and Grey Sch 80 & 120 are UV resistant... CPVC threaded fittings work best when threading and joining other types of plastic or metal fittings due to the pitch of the threads on the fittings.
