Simpsons and predictive programming from 2008???

Watching an episode of Simpsons from 2008 called Mypods and Boomsticks. In it, Bart makes friends with a Muslim kid and Homer is afraid of the family as being terrorists and such. The purpose was to address Islamophobia and xenophobia and yadda yadda, you get the idea. Anyway, after Homer tries to get them to admit they're terrorists, Marge yells at him to go to their house and apologize. Homer goes "But Marge, we're the more powerful country for a couple more years" or something to that extent. This was from 2008 when Obama was just taking over Presidency. You think this was a future prediction where America was bound to become weaker on the global level after 2008???

Not saying this theory is true, just throwing it out there. It's probably nothing but still interesting.
