Secondly, it could be that the farmer knew that the mother couldnt make enough milk for seven, but like Soule said, there are tons of people who would have taken them. It also does not answer why the male was dumped as well. And,lastly, the synchs...eery and heinous in my opinion. User ID: 68431818 United States 03/28/2015 05:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | goats rarely give birth to more than two kids at a time, the third one, if it lives, must be bottle fed, so to assume that this goat had seven kid would be a "freak of nature" and I have no doubts that the 3rd kids would all be born dead and way undersize even if they were full term I know this because I raise goats, and once had a billy that "threw" triplets ... of the four nannies who had triplets only one of the 3rd kids survived, two were born dead one refused the bottle and starved to death because it was not aggressive enough to fight for its meal, and one accepted a bottle because its mother rejected him ... I sold the billy because I didn't want it to produce any more triplets and fully disclosed the fact that he did to the buyer, who just wanted a "lawn mower" and neutered him... because it takes a lot out of the nannies, and all but kills them to bring them to full term, even when you bottle feed the third one they never get full sized and are often sterile ... I have never heard of a goat having quads, but I feel very sorry for them if one ever did because it really weakens the Nanny when all her energy is going to the unborn kids so I understand how this may have happened... the billy fathered seven kids, the mother died giving birth and the babies probably were all born dead (under developed) so the owner killed the billy so that it couldn't do it again ... because you can not eat the meat of a mature billy goat, they have to be neutered before they are weaned or the meat has an undesirable flavor . typically it cost $150 to have a dead goat disposed of by animal control, you can't just dig a hole when the ground is frozen, and there are laws about what you can bury on your property (which most farmers ignore) ... so now you understand, it would have cost almost $1500 to have these goats bodies disposed of ... so they just dumped them where they knew Animal control would pick them up before the dogs got to them. The fact that they were all respectfully "arranged" show the concern of their owners ... most people would have left them in a heap or tossed them in a river Last Edited by Sunny Daze on 03/28/2015 06:44 PM |

Anyone would have taken them. So, if alive, why kill them?... why were they found with hay in their mouth, obviously they could eat solid food. there are rendering stations that render for free, burying outside municipalities is allowed. It is extremely unusual for a goat to have 7, in fact, I dont recall that it has ever been documented Last Edited by LePALMA on 03/28/2015 06:25 PM From the perspective of the wild, the kingdoms of animals and plants, the soil and even the rocks, all of humanity is guilty. There is a chance they were poisoned and the farmer, not wanting to be blamed, got rid of them in a bizarre manner. well, it is obvious that you don't know much about goats ... because once a billy gets to be four years old, unless you have a really good fence and they are "friendly" they are a royal pain in the ass, and if they have horns, they are damn dangerous when "in the rut" and weigh almost two hundred pounds ... you can't sell them, because people who know goats, know better than to buy one that is full grown ... they either "rent a billy" or they just go down to the sale barn and get a young one ... they start breeding at six months, so you may get three years out of them before they start plowing down fences to get at the nannies ... I had one bust down walls in my barn ... and blast through wire fence even after it was heavily re enforced ... couldn't sell him, couldn't eat him, so we gave him to the lion preserve down the road. |

User ID: 68747562 United States 03/28/2015 07:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can't you neuter a male goat? I mean, is it not standard practice? Wouldn't that calm a male goat down? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60591998 yes, you can, but it should be neutered before it is weaned (8 weeks)preferably when they are a week old, or there can be "complications". You could neuter an older one, but once they learn bad habits and smell the doe in heat, with or without horns they are a force to be reckoned with that you don't want to deal with ... and even when they aren't in "rut" they are rude and obnoxious to the doe s ... and have to be separated or they eat all the food and piss on what they can't swallow and harass the others while they are trying to get a bite to eat if you neuter them young, and have no does, and use them to keep your fields mowed, and have burned off their horns as kids... then they are managable, but even my neighbor's gay goats get aggressive when my doe s are "in season" and they are pets raised by their kids for 4H Last Edited by Sunny Daze on 03/28/2015 08:04 PM |

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects. The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard. I am not a pro, but I have had my learning experience with goats. I have two neighbors that have goats and I been the emergency vet on three occasions. I learned some very interesting things about goats. 1. Female goats can be some of the meanest critters you ever want to see, and a pregnant female goat is even meaner. 2. Young male goats stop being "cute", and become smelly, sex craved, teenagers, that do some unusual, for some, disgusting, things with their penises. 3. Goats will destroy your trees, gardens fences, houses, etc....... The may not eat everything, put everything is mouth tested. 4. Goats have amazing memories, they have their own unique style and personalities. 5. People who have no experience with goats, should never consider a goat as a pet. It is not fair to the goat, or any one else that may be involved, that includes you neighbor and or neighborhood. 6. Last but not least, I learned that I love goats. |
