(for Asthma) Did you know that beeswax candles clean the air when they burn? Beeswax releases negative ions when it burns. Pollen, dust, dirt, pollutants, and any other junk in the air all carry a positive charge, and that is how they can be suspended in the air. The negative ions released from burning beeswax negate the positive charge of air contaminants, and the neutralized ions are sucked back into the burning candle or fall to the ground. Many air purifiers and water filters harness this effective negative ion technology. Because beeswax candles clean the air and reduce indoor pollutants, they can effectively reduce asthma, allergies, and hay fever. [link to empoweredsustenance.com] |

(for Asthma) I use the discontinued Multi-Tech II "XJ-3000D" Air Purifier. I got it refurbished (good as new) from the website and an extra UV bulb and HEPA filter. The thing will clean the air of a whole house in 4 hours. You'll notice the difference in smell and lack of particles in the air when you walk in. |

There is a "C" model (Multi-Tech XJ-3000C) on the front page of that link. Do you know what the difference is between the C AND D model? |

It passes gobs of air thru the filter material, trapping the dust. |

As long as there are no gaps to let unfiltered air pass it does a fantastic job. |

(for Asthma) I used a Honeywell air purifier and had excellent results. Honeywell Air Purifiers Honeywell Air Purifiers are the #1 brand of air cleaner recommended by allergists, and are available in a wide variety of sizes to best match your needs. For people with severe allergies, asthma, or other breathing conditions, we recommend Honeywell True HEPA Air Purifiers, which use True HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filtration to remove 99.97% of all particles down to 0.3 microns in size, providing the ultimate protection from dust mite allergens, mold spores, tobacco smoke, pollen, animal hair and dander, bacteria, viruses and other harmful airborne particles. (for Asthma) It's got an ioniser that can be switched off if desired, and a carbon and hepa filter, is reasonably quiet for nighttime use (he can sleep ok with it on the lowest fan speed) and the filters are relatively inexpensive. There's definitely not so much dust in his room now, there air smells cleaner and I'm gonna buy another one for the living room where he spends a lot of time. There's probably better models on the market but this one is helping to improve his condition and I don't know whether to try a more expensive brand or stick with this manufacturer tbh. |

(for Asthma) Have you been tested for a dust mite allergy? How often do you wash your bedding? Do you have mite-proof covers on your pillows and a mite-proof mattress cover? You should wash sheets at least once a week and other bedding every other week for it to be free of allergens. There are mite sprays also. Your problem could be the bed, not the air. Do you sleep alone, or are pets allowed on the bed? You can be allergic to another human or his/her perfumes, deodorant, etc, or plant allergens on pets. Do you have carpeting in the bedroom? You should vacuum daily and dust all furniture. |

(for Asthma) Years ago, my cousin Ginger, who had super bad allergies, also had constant asthma, which almost killed her a few times...spent time in the hospital for it. Her Mom ended up getting a Rainbow vacuum cleaner due to her asthma, to filter the air. It worked as an air purifier stand-alone that filtered all the air and dust through water in a way that the air was greatly purified. And when used as a vacuum, instead of dust every where when you vacumned, the air was dust-free. Essential oils could be added to the water to further purify...oils like lemon, eucalyptus, mint, etc. If you can find a Rainbow online somewhere, that is one one to choose. It was a spendy item, though, even back in the seventies. I think it cost around $800 new which was a big deal back then, but their kid was going to die, so they got the vacuum. Good luck! TOL |

TOL THIS I would love one myself, but they're bloody expensive aren't they? Honestly, the design of them is super fucking simple. The air is purified by water. Water can purify the air better than any filter. |
