I have plenty to say about the economical and financial policy of Russian government. For example - about measures which led to sudden drop of Rouble. They are "targeting the inflation", but ignoring such "unimportant" details as general decline of economy, insufficient money supply etc. etc. I have plenty to say about educational system which is now in comatose state - when my pupil (of Japanese) is asking me an advise considering his education all I can suggest him now is to choose a school which be less bothersome, because the educational system was virtually destroyed in last 10 years.

There's a whole lot of Russian internal problems. So far, however, all the discussions here I participated in are about external policy of Russia, which I believe to be as close as being to perfect ATM, as it's possible.

Don't really know what you are talking about. But if it's about Sochi, I may be able to shed some light on it in due time. My uncle from the father's side worked in construction there (bridge construction actually) and may know something. If you'll elaborate, I'll ask him next time he comes to visit.

I even have his video of drilling machine being lifted from the swamp. They managed to drop it there.

I have plenty of acquaintances who are criticising every move of the government - starting with IT specialist I'm working with - and they are just fine. Hell, he and my another colleague went to protest against Navalniy brothers' lawsuit - and nothing happened.

Propaganda doesn't necessarily mean it is untrue. Sometimes propaganda takes a valid sensible point and beats it to death by reinstating it Over and over in an attempt of drawing more attention to it.

Great. Now filming a documentary about any territorial reclaim will automatically make you a Hitler-wannabe. Nice logic!

Not even mentioning the fact that Germany as a single state was created only in the second half of the 19th century. Only plausible historical claim that Germans could have managed to attain here was them being the successor of the 1st Reich - the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation. Under that logic a large chunk of Czech should be a part of it - hence Bohemian March.
But all the claims of 2nd and 3rd Reichs to be successors of 1st Reich are rather vague and are based almost purely on mythology. Nether spirit nor letter of old HRE was preserved in either one.

You can claim that USSR was not a successor of Russian Empire. Formally it's true - even if Stalin managed to revive a majority of Empire institutions in some way. But Russian Federation is firmly an USSR successor and de facto successor of Russian Empire (hence paid off debts of Empire). Russian claim on Crimea is strongest among the now existing countries.

But more importantly - and the film is focused on it - the people there wished for it. They tasted the rule of Ukraine and decided that they don't want it any more. Especially after seeing what happened in Kiev.

Two wrongs don't make a right. The Crimea was Russian, is Russian, and without WW3 (or with it) will always be Russian.

It would make more sense for Putin to tell the US to demilitarize Hawaii and California..and get out. Actually, Virginia could be included.

What happened with East Prussia, West Prussia and Silesia was a gross historical wrong. Even Churchill, a rabid German hater, did not think that was a good idea--even he had his overlords.

I understand the mistrust that central Europeans have for Russia--and especially the Poles. However, as in tearing up the criminal Treaty of Versailles, Putin has a lot of leeway in his actions before there is anything that would galvanize resistance to (possible) Russian imperialism.
