PRAYER REQUEST FOR A SWEET GUY

thanks. I want to remember M*walk in prayer every day. My father had really bad kidney disease and lived to a ripe 84. My mother has stage III, but is doing very well.
in both cases, NO family history or any precipitating factors at all -
except for using statins. I do not trust those drugs.

God draws close to those who draw close to Him. This Lent, I will pray for M*walk to have a wonderful life, feel better, and know he is valued by us all!

Hi everyone, I wanted to thank you all for love and support. It means the world during tough times.
My condition has me in for fight, these next months I don't suspect will get any easier, the support from my family here at GLP keeps my chin up, even if the physicians aren't saying what I'd like to hear.

You're prayers have helped me in my quest for stability, an attorney called hours after the thread was posted and accepted my case, relief is coming soon. Which is a tremendous worry lifted from my plate, thank you guys, sincerely. It's important to pray for everyone that needs some uplifting, and I very much appreciate having folks pray for my well being. As I will do for others.

Halloo back, m'dearest..you do know it's understood how hard it is to receive, much more so than it is to give which is so easy.
Humans aren't wound lickers like deer are..so direct in the kind of help they offer each other.
With us it's words, visuals and $$$ that by nature have no intrinsic value. Not in the way a tootsie massage, a little sweetness like being brought breakfast and roughing up yr hair does, lol!
This is what's missing in cyberworld for sure..can't quite reach the itch more or less.

For you M*Walk I wish you multiple wound-lickers becoming surprised they are more human in this process you experience with them.

And BTW that deserved benefit of yorn..do you know which part of that the lawyer gets?
Just lookin' out for ya, if there's a way you can sched an emergency meetup with the benefit people without the lawyer taking any of it from you when you already meet the criteria sans rep.
I know you're stressed to the nines and just want that done, so understandable and quicker the better for your health.
Idk, maybe just a call to SS to inquire about going solo and qualifying situation fulfilled, how quick that can be if you state the emergency and immediate need. Just a phone call, 'k?

Hi guys, had to post another update with good news. Although I feel the effects of my blood tainting due to improper filtration, the pain in the areas adjacent to my kidneys has lessened, the constant throbbing has eased. I can only attribute this to your prayers and thoughts, you guys are making it easier for me to recover Group hug!

Those with kidney failure and requiring dialysis each week (and the possible future kidney transplant) are virtually always awarded SS benefits.


It might take a few months for the benefits to become active.

So that also means lawyer or no lawyer "winning" an "always awarded" case would not speed up receipt of benefits would it.

Basically the lawyer is like tits on a chicken, right?

A good friend of mine was approved for SSDI and got her benefits in 6 weeks.
No lawyer.
She had very longstanding MS and waited until her legs and arms gave out.

Yes.... he might be able to get expedited benefits......just like your friend.


The lawyer might be useful for this........but as far as the actual winning of the case........a person with kidney disease would probably not require a lawyer.


Lawyers generally get 25% of the back pay.


The normal time to have a case decided is 3-4 months.......but it can be much lower if expedited......as was the case with your friend.

By this ^^^ does a person still wait 3-4 months even when the circumstances are an emergency?
Then wait 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks for benefits?

M*Walk sez he's already been turned down 2x until now he's at the grinding need stage.

How might this translate, AC?
Total process in tough circumstances beginning to tangible benefits in hand?

I am not sure of the specifics of the case......but if turned down 2x...obtaining a lawyer would make sense.

For regular cases........it takes approx. 3-4 months from the time of application until SS notifies you if you were approved or not. If approved.....the benefits and back pay generally arrive approx. one month later.

For expedited cases.........things move along much faster. There is a list of certain diseases.......which are automatically approved......like Alzheimer's Disease and Kidney Disease. Because ot this......SS does not have to spend a lot of time trying to obtain records from many sources, reviewing them, arranging for additional testing, etc.etc.

One more thought for our buddy M*Walk ..

How about Legal Aid in your city. Pro Bono you would certainly qualify for a rep if that makes you feel more secure.

Since the wait times are so absurd were I you I wouldn't want to take any risk even with a "sure thing" if Legal Aid is available to you.
Wouldn't pay a lawyer though. I'd go solo in that case.

Well, last 2x were before official kidney failure diagnosis.

Surely it's true with most there are multiple things going on which each taken singularly are not seen as clearly as KF diagnosis.
