Yes, that's how it seems. Obviously I don't know what's going on with Putin, but it's clear to me that MSM internationally are operating under some kind of instructions to not pay attention to this story. The only way I've seen it reported anywhere is as a kind of funny item along the lines of "internet conspiracy nutjobs want to know where Putin is". It is all very strange, and the fact that MSM everywhere are playing along with this it must mean there is some kind of script involved which is being acted out.

Well, they DID report it accurately. They likely should have added the editorial "Putin has not been seen for x days", but in the strictest sense the MSM was accurate; imagine that!

Well I can see why the media is not saying much. If they say he is dead, and then he walks out on Monday in front of the crowds Does the media then say oops, our mistake? If they say it's a coupe and out walks Putin Monday morning Another big fat oops and no one would ever believe a freaken word they ever said again in the media. The implication is that they choose to not give attention to the matter showing a feeling of apathy.

The internet media, which has a huge audience, is given the significance.

All I asked was why AP and Drudge posted the rather mundane report about a TV show involving Putin with total disregard for the public speculation of his complete absence, canceled meetings, and bizarre official spokesperson and state TV lies and reversals.

All I did was present another odd example of what the media isn't willing to address.
