Anonymous Coward User ID: 67928791 Canada 03/04/2015 09:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was reading this thread about the dangers of Astral Travel. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65571062 Thread: The Dangers Of Astral Travelling!!! I passed it on to somebody who engages in these sorts of things as something he might want to check out as there appears to be dangers to such things and it's not something God wants us to do. He stated the Astral Travels is bad but it is a specific subset of Out of body experiences. And there are other self-induced Out of body experiences that are okay. So that leaves me with the question. Whether or not you agree there is danger, Is there a difference between Astral Travel and Out of body experiences? I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement. From personal experience. And I think the 2 you mention are basically the same, the other similar but different one being lucid dreaming, which is where you wake up your own consciousness while inside a dream and can control it. |

I think Astral Travel implies that it is more of a controlled and intentional experience and an OBE is not. On that thread I cited Lucid dreaming is distinguished from Astral Travel and the comments seem to suggest it's not even Out of body experience but something within you own mind. |

But he claims his out of body experience are self induced but are not Astral Travel. |

As for the astral realm I don't know too much about it so ill let someone with more xp comment on that. |

The astral realm is just one octave made up of a group of notes. each one passes on to the next until a new octave or realm is reached. Remove viewing is an example of cosmic consciousness, like telepathy. Near death experience could take place on a number of planes must most likely the next higher key on the piano from this one, the astral plane. While I can't speak for your friends experience, as he could be conscious on any number of planes, I would expect it to the astral.
