The Humane Society?
My nieghbor just came out to yell at me, that the Humane Society told her to get a gun and blow off my dog's heads if they come in her yard.

Dogs in the nieghborhood killed her cats... but they weren't my dogs; my dogs love cats.

I offered to give dna samples to prove it's not my dogs; but they don't do that. She has been trying to get my dog killed for years, because her dog attacked mine and lost... ironically when the "Humane Society" comes to investigate my dogs, and I complain about her 100 cats (seriously) being in my yard and how much the flea spray costs me, they offered me a cat trap.

I called the "H.S." to ask them about what they told her, and the person who talked to me, told me it was legal to protect her and her property, anyway she sees fit... instead of offering her a dog trap!

And, the "Humane Society" enabels this woman to own 100 cats as part of their feral cat program, but refuses to do anything about the fleas that infest her/their cats!

Try to get some legal advice. A letter from an attorney often results in a change of attitude.

If money is an issue, you can usually get free advice from at least a paralegal in an attorney's office by looking at ads in the yellow pages for one that advertises a free consultation.

For a letter, they'll charge you so shop around if the advice you get seems to warrant a letter from your attorney.

Good luck; keep your dogs safe. Can you get a secure dog run put up for them? It would protect your dogs. I'd worry about their safety if they run loose.

Thanks for the advice Ralph, I have cable runs connected between trees. It wasn't my dogs in her yard. The dogs that killed her cats took out my cat and my last four of ten chickens in the same day, and were just trying to catch my little Wizard of Oz dog a few minutes ago, which I got just to scare the cats out of my yard.

I'm not worried about her shooting the little one; she always calls them on my big dogs.

My main concern isn't for my dog's saftey...

I'm writing this because the "Humane Society" is advocating shooting a dog.

Re: The Humane Society?
First off, put up a no trespassing sign so she can see it clearly from her yard.

Second, research your counties trespassing by-laws. I know in ontario we have an animal trespassing act and city leash laws for dogs, and some of the fines can be up to 2000 dollars.

I love animals myself so I don't advocate shooting any, but you have the same right she does regardless what animal is trespassing on your land. I would seek a legal recourse though before loading your guns.. If she is providing a service and shelter situation for the H.S then it is no wonder they sided with her, but they also have to, or should be in some kind of shelter and not roaming freely through the neighborhood especially if there is a flea issue.. You absolutely do not want one bringing over ticks which leads to lyme disease, then kiss your life goodbye because you will know what real pain is like if you contract lyme disease.

And, I'm writing this because the "Humane Society is allowing 100 cats in their feral cat program to be infested with fleas, and live in a house full of cat shit on the couch, the bed, and the feces runs through her carport and down the driveway when it rains, and cover the road in front of her house with a hard bubbley green/brown crust.

And that's alright with the "Humane Society?"

Everyone of those cats should be wearing a flea and tick collar and the humane society should know better.. They should also provide her with the nessecary aid those animals need and perhaps even help her financially to enclose her backyard like a real animal sanctuary.

It is absolutely a health issue at that point.. Call the health department and complain about it. The humane society will get in a ton of shit and make sure she is caring for those animals properly. There is no reason anyone should have that many cats..

what state/county are you in? I might be able to find some legal laws you can use for your protection.

It is no laughing matter either, there is a major health concern here, trespassing and animal cruelty, and probably some other violations.

You can call the police/sheriff for the tresspassing issue. Video/record everything, every conversation you have with h.s or the lady make sure you have your phone in hand recording for your records and let them know you are recording the conversation.

Call the health dept. and issue a complaint about the health concerns I mentioned, again record everything best you can for your records..

If you end up snapping and killing one of her animals, you will probably get off but again, record it, make sure your signs are posted, maybe more than one..

i fucking hate asshole neighbors who don't leash or tie up their animals.. It is one thing if the dogs are well trained and shit in their own yard, but they never do.. I have been dealing with an idiot neighbor who doesn't tie his dog up, it shits in my yard, he picks most of it up, but I could never go lye on the grass out there.. Its destruction of property what it is.. And these assholes don't think nothing of it..

Aloha AC Canada; I'm in Hawaii, and haven't heard of lyme disease here; but I'm right with you on your, no tresspassing idea. :)

While she was yelling about shooting my dogs, I was singing about shooting her cats, "I can shoot your cats, I can shoot your cats, Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

That shut her up; but I don't own a gun, and wouldn't shoot her cat's even if I did.

Hi Doomish, my dogs are on cabels rated at some tons with strong chains, on trees that bend so thy can't break their chains... they can't go anywhere.

AC Canada, I'm not going to snap and kill anything.
I see this as a win win. She shoots the dogs that killed my cat and chickens; and (according to the "Humane Society) if she doesn't kill each dog with one shot, that's cruelty to animals, and she will be arrested.

I have videos of her dog walking down my road, and challenging my dog in the road, while my dog is on a leash.

The "Humane Society" tells her they can't do anything without a picture of my dogs out of my yard; they refuse to make her tie up her dog, or fine her, even though I have a bunch of videos of her dog off of her property.

I live in Hawaii county; thanks for your help.

I realized after I wrote it that my question wasn't well worded. I meant - do they ever get a break from being chained? Do they ever come in your house or leave the yard?

Hey Doomish, I can't quote you with this phone. My dogs do get out of my yard, I walk them all at least twice a day. Unfortunatly, even though I live in a jungle, with my nearest neighbor to the east being over a half mile away, I can't ever let my dogs run free; partly because of her, but also because the pigs in the jungle, they can gut your dog in a second.

Ah, OK. That makes sense. I thought they literally were cabled their entire lives. Sheesh. But I get the open spaces. When I was little my parents owned a ton of property and we had a dog for a week but she ran away because there was no containment or cable system.

Nah Doomish, I can't tie my dogs up indefinatley. I hate to tie them at all; but here when a dog goes missing, you might smell it; but you're not likley to find it... you'ld need a compass as soon as you step off of the road about ten feet; and you'ld probably get caught in trees, shrubs, and thorns a few times since then.

Even though my dogs won't get shot, and the dogs that killed my chickens and cat might; and even though the lady probably can't kill 3 dogs with 3 shots, and will probably go to jail... I don't like the idea of shooting dogs or cats: and I especially don't like the "Humane Society" telling people to shoot dogs!

I used to hunt when I was young... after all the animals I had to finish off, I don't think she can even kill one dog which is chasing her cat through her yard with one shot, and wouldn't be surprised if she shoots one of her cats too.
