You are likely right, but people inhale all manner of things in a lifetime. I know I have inhaled insulation, probably asbestos and who knows what else. Car and diesel pollutants, etc.

I vape and the mod I use requires me to make my own heating coils using wire specifically made for that purpose.

I do understand the so-called study is absolute CRAP, but I also wonder if maybe there wouldn't be a benefit to getting the coils red hot first before use.

The idea would be to hopefully burn off any impurities that would otherwise leach off throughout the time the coil is being used.

I wonder if there'd be any point in that. Maybe it'd make no difference, maybe it'd cause problems. Something for me to research!

Ive seen a few coil building videos and everyone of them hit the coil with a torch to heat treat or stress relieve it before adding their preferred wicking material.

Could be beneficial.

I have no doubt tobacco companies are going to try and kill off ecigs, although the one that makes Newport bought Blue (which is a crappy ecig battery wise).

Anyway, this is probably a real conspiracy considering the dirty things tobacco companies have done in the past. GLP is the right place for this discussion.

I think any impurities or oils would be burned off rather quickly.

Heating metal is always going to out gas some of the metal. These nano particles over the long term could be dangerous, I don't know. I know there was a study on copper particle being released in some generic e-cigs. To what degree this may be harmful is unknown.

I think more important is the wicking material. Organic wicking material is pretty cheap and I'd throw away any wick material away that comes with a rebuildable and buy my own.

I do. Put a torch to it and off gas. I figure it wont hurt anything at all and seems to prime the coil abit. I will say I have not done many of them because my coils seem to last a strangely long time.

In the state where I live, they are looking to pass a bill that will put a 90% TAX on all ecig products. Yes, you read that correctly...90%!!!! This will put all ecig distributors and sellers out of business in our state!!! A HUGE win for big tobacco. Fuck those bastards!!

The main difference to remember is that you don't need a tobacco farm to make your own e-cig juice.

You only need to buy the hardware once. The consumables are used for many other things too. They can't tax that without major blowback.

I thought we were all born with cancer cells. And I agree that genetics may trigger the cancer to become active in some of us. But as far as fuku rads., I'll tell you a story.

I grew up with a neighbor that was in WWII, he was 94 last year, he recently died a few months ago...but anyways, Rey, that's his name lived in Hawaii and he joined the army and was just out of boot camp and stationed in Hawaii as well. He was there the day Pearl Harbor was bombed. He went and saved people that day and shortly thereafter the bombing of Nagasaki, he was one of the first troops there. He was exposed to massive amounts of RAD, I believe. yet - he lived to be 94 1/2 and died peacefully in his sleep. he hadn't smoked in over 40 years but he smoked damn'd near 30 years before then.

It also depends on the heating coils and the wicks. If you're vaping at 5v, you need a strong heating element and wicks so it won't burn.

And I was wrong, I just looked it up...it's not a 90% tax they're trying to pass...it's a 95% tax!

You are right in that the e-juice ingredients (VG, PG) are all food-grade items...so as to how they would police the sale and distribution I am unsure...but anything affiliated with production and use in the manner of ecig (if there's any evidence it is to be used for these means), they are looking to pass this law that the 95% tax must be paid. So my assumption would be, they would try to find out WHY you are purchasing VG or PG. This puts a HUGE burden on ecig suppliers in my state (should this law pass), and will definitely put them out of business.
