I know one thing for sure about human nature.

If religion had no reward versus punishment or heaven versus hell concept there is no reason to follow any religion.The religious leaders noticed this and acted accordingly.

So if this is possibly the key for peoples following of a religion,to me it indicates religion is based on an individuals fear of death.

I believe a humans focus should be on life not death.
