Anonymous Coward User ID: 21363812 Canada 02/13/2015 11:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You missed the whole point of this thread. I have never seen anyone think themselves into shape. For someone who is unhealthy, who is overweight, eats unhealthy foods, and never exercises, their mind is corrupted with self-doubt and depression. In this state or in any state, you cannot think yourself into a new way of living. You have to force yourself to do what your mind and body do not want to do. As you get into shape, your mind follows suit and your depression and self-doubt are replaced with confidence and optimism. Your will to accomplish things grows stronger, and you see that through pushing your body through atrophy, you cleansed your mind and spirit as well. You may have missed the whole point as well.... The only people who DO get into shape are the one who've FIRST made up their minds to do so. In your bolded comment above, who is the 'you' you refer to that has to force yourself.....? The brain is a vehicle, a conduit per se, whereby your consciousness expresses itself in, and animates, the physical body - not the other way around. People who look in the mirror and complain about their 'fatness' are allowing themselves to be governed by the conditions they see, which is a manifestation of their already and continued belief and focus on their 'fatness'. People who look in the mirror and say, that's ok, I can change this, the first thing they do is change their 'mind' about how they perceive themselves. They don't let the conditions get in the way. And once they do make up their minds to change things, the body follows suit. I mean, anyone who has ever seen anyone accomplish greatness (physical or spiritual) either within themselves or others, has first seen that person 'make up their minds' to achieve greatness. "You are what you think" are not just pretty words - they are serious words to live by..... it all begins with thought and you always get to choose if the thought is what you deem 'good' or 'bad'. |

The SOUL/SOL is your inner SOULAR/SOLAR sun. When two SOULS are connected in the physical realm such as husband and wife, and one dies leaving the other broken hearted, then the other physically alive will sometimes pass away soon after from the broken SOUL.There are many stories of this happening and the person with the broken SOUL usually dies with no other known health related problems. Most all Solar systems have two SOLS, sometimes both seen and are known as binary SOLAR systems.(random fact) |

I have been contemplating this like a chicken or egg experiment for days. and your post has helped greatly. I got healthy and stopped drinking and smoking and working out regularly... then started meditating and became wise to make even better healthy decisions. I then started an even better diet and stopped eating all acidic and disease implementing diets - but have stopped the exercise and meditation... well EVERYTHING else isn't working out(no pun intended) I need to get the blood flowing and oxygen that I use to! I need to stop eating badly. the junk and preservatives have made their way back into my body and it has to stop. I know I need to correct what I'm putting into my body before what comes out is pure! |

That is your body screaming to be conditioned, to be cleaned from all of the bad food we have put into it and the atrophic state we have left it in. Quoting: Rising Son The hardest part is taking that first step - the jog around the block or the first workout session at the gym. Mind fuels body or body fuels mind? We'll argue over that for eons...everyone thinks they know. The reality we experience proves to us what is truth. If we take narcotic drugs - there's no way your mind can overpower the effect of those drugs on the physical body. We all have to wait for the drugs to be broken down by the body and wait for normality of mind to return. We cannot 'think' ourselves sober. There are those with amazing minds/spirit/soul connection who have terrible physical illnesses. We must not forget we live in a physical reality. THAT reality is what predominates in THIS realm. |

Quoting: wating... waiting... 23856001 Your spirit decides your ultimate pathway and this cannot be changed until the current lifecycle is completed and another begins. A simplified definition would be wheel of kharmic compensation that slowly turns a soul from the base to the divine. That's precisely why some people are doomed to live their lives in abject poverty, misery, poor health or a deranged mind. While it's possible to lose 300lbs of excess body fat or rebuild an atrophied musculature, the mind/body influence can only go so far in achieving positive changes. And if you think you can change the natural, preordained course that was set by your soul at life's entrance you are only fooling yourself. I don't believe one word of the garbage you posted here. I and many others are living contradictions to your "explanation" of kharmic fate, predestination, esotericism, or whatever else you want to call it. Your belief system renders permanent change impossible, and drastically underestimates the power of the human spirit and body. It takes away any personal accountability or responsibility one might have for their current condition and promotes a powerless, victim mentality. We are hyperspatial objects of some sort that cast a shadow onto matter. The shadow in matter is our physical organism. At death, the thing that casts the shadow withdraws, and metabolism ceases. Material form breaks down; it ceases to be a dissipative structure in a very localized area, sustained against entropy by cycling material in, extracting energy, and expelling waste. But the form that ordered it is not affected. These declarative statements are made from the point of view of the shamanic tradition, which touches all higher religions. Both the psychedelic dream state and the waking psychedelic state acquire great import because they reveal to life a task: to become familiar with this dimension that is causing being, in order to be familiar with it at the moment of passing from life. The metaphor of a vehicle—an after-death vehicle, an astral body—is used by several traditions. Shamanism and certain yogas, including Taoist yoga, claim very clearly that the purpose of life is to familiarize oneself with this after-death body so that the act of dying will not create confusion in the pysche." ~Terrence Mckenna "The syntactical nature of reality, the real secret of magic, is that the world is made of words. I commend you for your civility, you showed more class and maturity in your response than I did. I think we have hit an impasse where our beliefs diverge. I believe that your soul can be altered, I believe it can be poisoned, and I also believe it can be cleansed. I believe we are our soul, and our bodies are vessels of that soul. I believe that as one suffers or grows stronger, so too will the other. I'm sorry but I refuse to believe our soul is predestined at birth, in my mind that eliminates the purpose of our life experience - to grow and improve ourselves through our failures and our successes. I do believe that our Creator has a divine plan for each of us, and as we grow closer to Him in our endeavor to improve our conscious contact with Him through our personal discovery and betterment, we may begin to have our purpose revealed to us. That only happens through our efforts to improve ourselves and to cleanse the spiritual conduit between our soul and God.
