Scorched Earth Now! No Cover...Hundreds of Thousands of Acres burned the last 3 weeks
Large swatches of forest provide cover while one is not in combat, they also aid the movement of supplies from one area to another. Scorched Earth is also a technique used to "herd" the enemy into specific target zones where their activities may be more easily monitored. Everything that can not be carried, previously squirreled away, diverted, or used is destroyed, to lessen the chance of 'the enemy' gaining control of it.

Smokey the BEAR prescribes controlled burns as a means to manage forest overgrowth, and encourage sapling growth.
We have become accustomed to "prescribed burns", and all Forest Rangers and Park Service Mgrs assure us that these controlled burns are definitely to prevent forest fires, however I don't recall ever seeing it on such a mass scale, and carried out with such "organized quickness"
Also, I consider the drones. this just seems to be an extreme amount of burn.

I know this is enormous list of Corralling, I mean controlled burns but here it is anyway.

Louisiana demands EPA explains approval of plan to burn 15 million pounds of artillery propellant at Camp Minden

"The M6 propellant was abandoned at the base by Explo Systems Inc., which went bankrupt in 2013"

[link to www.nola.com]

It is recommended that this type of carcinogenic material be burned in an incinerator, the quick destruction of the arsenal in the open air leads many in nolo to question "why the hurry?"

M6 propellant probably won't explode unless its stuffed into a pressurized device of some sort, or piled high and thick, or stuffed into a hole, so the risk of explosion is minimal;however Gov. Jindal has issued LA State of Emergency order because of this stockpile

Asymmetrical warfare and the numbing of the american populace
One probably will not realize the significance of this, until a time comes when a little extra coverage would come in handy.

"scorched-earth policy made it impossible to live off the land" (An Idiots guide to the 20th century Alan Axelrod)

Well, Ok, I probably shouldn't be concerned, except when I consider the state of the world, and the state of america and some information that has been verified regarding laws that have been passed to quell the populace.
Burning up all the wood cover does not appear as threatening when it is done in the name of the environment, when the claims are made that all the burning is occurring to help prevent future forest fires. I have noticed prescribed burns in the past, no big deal, except they were not done on such a mass scale, and on such large amounts of acreage.

I have noticed a lot of the areas being burned are areas where people are known to camp, areas away from populated urban areas, scenic roads, marshes where tall grasses provide cover while in a boat in swimming in the water, and areas next to or close to Military facilities.
From the perspective of the wild, the kingdoms of animals and plants, the soil and even the rocks, all of humanity is guilty. And these, they judge us not...yet.

So What's the deal with Trees?

Living trees actually emit infrared!
and the more living foliage, the more a human's infrared signal is covered, the foliage blends into the our infrared signature, making a human less likely to be detected by drones or planes. Also, the more coverage an area has, the cooler the ground and surrounding muds and marsh will be, and its the blending of heat that does the trick.

Apparently, not even modern technology can get through trees; rooftops, boat covers, sheet metal, concrete can all be imaged through, but trees can not.

Also, a high foliage environment creates more ground humidity, which increases infrared scattering, like snow and ice crystals do. However the difference is, in a cold snowy environment, body temps are so much higher than the surrounding area, so generally, easily detected.
a way around this is 'shape shifting' or creating a diversion target area with mylar. it would require setting up some mylar because it is detectable by infrared, and then getting the body temp down to an extreme low, like 'ice bucket' low for at least 5 mins, and moving somewhere away from target area.

This really pisses me off. There will be repercussions because they're killing off the species (and future generations) of little animals that live in those areas. Food chain interruption? They used to do this in Florida in the spring, when all the birds were nesting. Eagles burned out of their nests, etc. Unbelievably stupid. Rest assured they'll find some way to blame the general populous for the diminished species. Effing geniuses (sarc).
