The Foreign Office is being sidelined over decisions regarding Israel Lebanon, Channel 4 News has learned.

He's best known as the Prime Minister's chief fundraiser.
But Lord Levy's other role is Tony Blair's personal envoy to the Middle East.

With Number Ten under fire for its supposedly pro-Israeli stance during the Lebanon war, we report on some MPs' concerns that the Foreign Office is being sidelined.

Lord Levy's hardly been seen since he was arrested by police last month. But now the prime minister's Middle East envoy is back in the driving seat.

Channel 4 News can reveal that he will meet senior Israeli figures tomorrow.

But his extensive travel in the Middle East is worrying some Labour MPs. One described Lord Levy today as "part of the problem" with a foreign policy that many believe has been too supportive of Israel.
