Given the amount of fervor by politicians and those in the media to enact more restrictive gun legislation to make buying and owning a gun more difficult, it may surprise you that only 6% of gun crimes were committed using a legally obtained firearm. That means 94% of gun crimes have been committed using illegally obtained firearms, proving that most gun crime happens regardless of the laws enacted to stop those crimes. Gun control does nothing to curb gun violence, it only makes it more difficult for law abiding citizens to obtain a gun. Do not fall for this false narrative, because if you do, then you are a part of the problem. Quoting: Rising Son [link to www.extranosalley.com] Newsflash: All those "illegally obtained" firearms started out as legal firearms. Unless you think there'a an illegal gun factory producing all this weaponry somewhere... That's my point, you can enact all the gun control legislation you want, but criminals are not concerned with laws, hence the reason they are criminals. They will still find ways of illegally obtaining (stealing) those legally purchased firearms. The idea that laws will curtail gun violence by criminals who are not at all inhibited by those laws is a bad joke. Laws will not stop gun violence, only an armed citizenry can stop it. Aside from the fact the victim of a gun crime can defend themselves if they are armed, the mere presence of an armed populace is a deterrent to a criminal. In this way, gun laws only serve to encourage gun crime by taking guns out of the hands of those who are in the best position to stop gun crime. "Be still, and know that I am God."
