I took the wrong dose, it showed. The advice is two capsules daily, that's where I'm at now. I'm taking it from now 600 mg. [link to www.iherb.com] I know many here are looking for some relief and suffer from anxiety or depression. Maybe give it a try. Take care |

Normal D3 levels should be about 30. My wife's got as low as 9 at one point, she took a 50,000 dose once a week and 5000 daily prescribed by the doctor for 6 months. She has serious issuses with immune system and autonomic nervous system. I am suspicious if it stemmed from low vitamin D. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52309196 Any sort of twitching/tremors? Anonymous Coward User ID: 69266401 United States 05/22/2015 09:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First things you need to do is eliminate the cause of your depression. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54438059 Your gut is the cause. Dysbiosis in the gut, leaky guy, candida, they cause the neurotransmittors to go crazy (most of them are in the gut). So first thing to do is, fix your stomach acidity with Betaine HCL or ACV. Second, get a good probiotic like VSL3 third, fix your gut with l-glutamine and stop eating a shitty diet with gluten, sugar and processed foods. Fourth get good anti oxidants to clean yourself out. Fifth make sure you get all the trace minerals and vitamins Then you will be up and running before the summer hits. Winner winner chicken dinner..... Great advice, I did the paleo diet , which is like you describe and lost 40 lbs as well. I take 50,000 IU vit D in one pill ,once a week. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23236829 United Kingdom 05/22/2015 10:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have brought 10,000iu of VitD, for about 3 weeks I have been taking 1 a day, but the last 4-5 days I have been taking 2x tablets a day, 20,000iu a day. Is this safe. Since taking the 2 a day, I seem to be getting a cold, sore throat and runny nose etc, any connection. Trying to fight the cold off before it sets in with wild oregano oil now, but still taking the vitd table too, with cal/mag tablets. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69310204 Germany 05/23/2015 06:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "Mucuna Pruriens Benefits for Dopamine, Testosterone and Better Sleep Velvet bean healthMucuna pruriens is one of the more potent mood enhancing and libido stimulating superfoods available, with noticeable health benefits and a long list of uses. This powerful herb can have a direct influence on your brain’s neurotransmitters and potentially have beneficial effects on your mental state, energy levels, ability to relax and even body composition and libido. Mucuna isn’t for everyone though and it’s important to read the dosage information and potential precautions before taking it. Strength and quality varies but there are details on high potency mucuna pruriens capsules and an organic seed powder at the end of this article. What is Mucuna Pruriens? Mucuna pruriens is a tropical vine that produces bean pods covered in prickly velvet hair. The seeds inside of these pods are the most valuable part of the plant from a medicinal point of view. Also known as kapikachhu, cowhage and velvet bean, mucuna pruriens has been used for centuries in many traditional cultures as a healing plant for a variety of different ailments. In Ayurvedic medicine, kapikachhu is known as a nerve tonic and adaptogen that helps the body deal with stress. It is one of the few herbs, alongside ginseng, brahmi and the amazing amla, known to balance all three of the doshas. It also has quite a reputation as an aphrodisiac. Modern science has revealed the velvet bean to be one of the best food sources of the amino acid L-dopa. Also called levodopa, L-dopa is a direct precursor to dopamine, a powerful neurotransmitter in your brain involved in mood, alertness, sexuality and many other important functions. Dopamine doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier so it cannot be taken or administered directly for therapeutic results. You can however potentially increase your dopamine levels if you’re low on it by making available more of the amino acid L-dopa for dopamine creation...." |

Doggerman User ID: 1124145 United States 06/19/2015 11:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Do not take melatonin for more than 3 consecutive weeks. Your body will stop producing it naturally if you do and then you will be dependent on it for the rest of your life. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64350830 1. Is there any evidence for this? Has anyone actually observed it? i.e. complete shutdown for life? Unlikely. Endocrine glands don't usually work that way. They might get suppressed for a time, but they come back. No, it is completely false. Melatonin production is not like testosterone where there is a feedback loop. Your body will produce melatonin continuously and what suppresses it is exposure to light, not the concentration of the chemical itself. I have taken melatonin supplements off and on for years, including more than five years taking it every night. Stopping the supplements did not result in zero melatonin. I can sleep just fine without it but still take it several times a week as necessary for that "extra deep" sleep. It also mixes well with Kava. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55400555 1000 IU is not enough imo. I believe the proper and safe amounts of D3 should be between 5,000-8,000 IU daily and i have also read that it should only be taken with K2 so that calcium build up happens in the bones and not in the arteries. I take 5,000 IU capsules with no K2. Ok, what is K2? a Vitamin , the most bioactive form of vitamin k ,that is contained in greens that helps the body direct calcium to the bones instead of the arteries. |

Nope. Debunked. Seconded. You can't OD on D... any excess will be expelled is all. The data is in. Not true. D is fat soluble. It can accumulate. But it takes a lot of it. A whole lot. You need a k2 because d makes calcium more bio available. K2 "tells" calcium to go to nones instead of soft tissues. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69552877 5-HTP and D3 - intense dreams but seem to wear off after a few nights. Seek official medical advice for proper doses. GLPers aren't doctors. Are you implying I'm a notable shill? That's the first I've ever had that claim thrown at me. Prove it. I Want To Believe |
