Lessons in GLP History: Part I - The ORIGINAL "ask me a question" thread
Hellloooo GLP A/Cs, members, supporters, mods, banned users on socks, EVERYONE!

I've taken the liberty of starting the first of many threads entitled "Lessons in GLP History", this is Part ONE for all you non-Romans out there....

Today we're going to find out about an absolute STAPLE in the GLP community. I know you've seen them...they're sometimes pretty funny and always pass some time

Ladies and gentlemen I'm talking about the infamous ASK ME A QUESTION series of threads. They usually start with an unlikely, often humorous situation, followed by "ask me a question..."

Here are a few recent ones that have garnered attention....

Thread: I was Nancy Pelosi's sex slave. Ask me a question.
Thread: I'm a home brewer. Ask me a question.
Thread: Freezing outside and now my power just went out - ask me a question
Thread: Just had to physically remove two Furries from my living room. Ask me a question

Sometimes funny, sometimes useful. What makes one of these topics successful is appeal to the OPs situation.

What about the very first "ask me a question" thread?

I have found two contenders for this title. But due to a technicality the first thread MAY or MAY NOT be a "ask me a question" thread in the typical fashion. Eitherway, top winners are

Thread: I am back for 2 hours. You are free to ask questions
(posted 10/19/2004 05:27 PM)

AND/OR

Thread: ask me anything
(posted 10/28/2004 10:22 PM)

The choice is yours GLP, I'm off for now.

Until next time...remember.....GLP loves answering YOUR questions!

I thought the John Lear thread was the true "ask me a question" thread.

Re: Lessons in GLP History: Part I - The ORIGINAL "ask me a question" thread
I think the first one i remember was something like, "I'm a member of an elite family with insider information ask me a question." or something like that, and soon after was followed by, Im a member of a redneck family with insider information ask me a question." or something like that.
