I'm at the hospital my wife has pneumonia there is an epidemic in Mexico

Seeing the same thing in our clinic in the north - and nurse friends are seeing it in PA and NJ. Over half of the patients we've seen have been hospitalized for pneumonia. After 13 years as a nurse, I've never seen it this bad.

No, she got it from being ill from another virus which weakened her immune system allowing the pnuemonia to attack her respiratory system.

One does not simple catch it off people.

I donot, usually, break down to it, until around my birthday, February.

I guess iam among the last to finally get the yearly "flu".

There hasbeen something, of a sore-throat-like nature, teasing at me, but doesnot actually go into effect, but will eventually . . . around my birthday . . . unless i stop it, but i forget about it, and, yup, it wins; "flu" gets me unaware . . . everydamtime.

My experiences with pneumonia all required antibiotics. It seems able to go on and on without the antibiotics.

All I can say is that whenever we get the flu, we zap and get better within 1 hour - 1 day.

My daughter is a nurse and she has been called in practically every day she's scheduled off because of short staff. She says so many nurses and doctors there are down with a serious case of the flu and this has been going on for a couple of weeks now. All of who have received the flu shot. She even said some of the staff is hospitalized due to their illness turning into pneumonia. She also said beds are filling up fast. This is in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

No antibiotics if it's viral...but this doesn't sound viral.

On aa side note, Mexico is going to end up having some kind of super antibiotic-resistant bacteria strain because they inject with antibiotics or who knows what or buy them at the store whenever they get a cold.

Pneumonia is serious shit, though.

Obviously rest, plenty of fluids, anti-viral medication, breathing treatments, "beef injections", etc., will be amongst the necessary precautions if it's viral.

But if it's from the flu it's probably not viral/walking pneumonia...it's bacterial pneumonia and there should be some kind of prescribed antibiotic for it, also.

If this is the case, and I believe it is, this is a sign that the wife has a compromised immune system to begin with due to health infirmities.

How come no one is asking if this "mystery super flu" possibly is a mutated strain of Ebola? Ebola came to the US and suddenly we have everyone dying from mystery flu and super pneumonia?
