There were some significant airspeed and altitude fluctuations right at the end. This indicates some very bad weather and wind sheer turbulence: [link to www.flightradar24.com] |

Maybe they did and that is not being reported. |

superfluous moon User ID: 66160891 Australia 12/27/2014 11:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | cant be weather because headline would have been , 'plane loses contact in storm.' headline or first sentence would have mentioned the plane losing communications as it went into a storm. detective school 101 says not storm related. |

Quoting: Hope_Full They're flying at 35,000+ feet, and they're huge airplanes and very stable. I have a feeling this is not weather-related. Some kind of explosive decompression? Yes, not good weather with some high embedded thunderstorms: [link to wxug.us] I also noticed that the most intense weather was to their right, and the aircraft was in a constant, slow turn slightly to the right before contact was lost. [link to www.flightradar24.com] Weather most certainly could have been the request for an "unusual route". That is the captain's decision and he does not have to record the reason for his flight plan request. |
