That dog did not show any aggression at all! Why do the courts even believe these ass holes? I guess the owner settled for $50,000.00 but the pos cop kept his job. Quoting: January Wolves [link to mobile.whig.com] Unbelievable that anyone could be scared of that poor dog. That dog was so fucking well behaved too considering the amount of tension it must have felt. I found the settlement here too [link to www.stltoday.com] Before I saw your link. At least there's some accountability but why on earth wouldn't the officers have been punished? Oh they say it was due to a "lack of training". Didn't realize a person needed training for common sense and basic humanity. Even after the first shot, the poor little guy's tail was still wagging. It stopped after the second and final. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 66401171 United States 12/27/2014 12:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That dog was scared, maybe lost and injured. Looks like he's got a wound right behind his front right leg. A few kind words and a bit of food they could have handled that dog easily. He wasn't aggressive in any way. Scare them to death and nobody can predict what will happen. Same goes for people. Dumb ass cops, if you want respect you have to act human to start with. Robodicks! Quoting: FlashBuzzkill That dog was even waving it's tail after he'd been shot. Dammit that makes me cry. Exactly. That dog was pure love. And he/she behaved precisely how a well behaved dog should. She would have been an easy catch that even a child could have probably pulled off. The poor thing didn't even attempt to run. She was confused and didn't understand what they wanted her to do. She may have been lost & didn't know her way back home. She may have thought the cops came to help her and take her home. Poor thing! Sure there are leash laws & dogs running at large laws but the dogs don't understand that. And as far as owners of dogs running at large I never cited on a first offence. Shit happens. Gates accidentally don't latch properly, etc. And even if it were a repeat offence it would never even have crossed an ACO's mind to shoot the dog. And I don't understand why the cop thought he needed to use a catch pole instead of just a leash. The idiot obviously hadn't been trained with a catch pole either. He didn't even know what to do once he had her. It's pitiful how scared many cops are of dogs (and humans). So very sad. They need to be trained to handle dogs and also how to handle the mentally ill & disabled instead of just shooting to solve their immediate problem. |

I am deeply involved in rescue/cross posting, transport, etc. I see this at least once a day. Not this vid, others like them. They are not just killing these "vicious" breeds, they are also branding them for rescue only in shelters so that they have less of a chance of getting out. Breed discrimination is running rampant, and it's not just the pibbles... it's the Sheps, the Rotts, the Dobies... any dog that can be considered personal protection. See a pattern? It hit me the other night when cross posting for the sweetest Shep EVAR and they branded him rescue only or to someone with experience with breeding and/or guard dogs... he had two days to get out. Our guns. Our dogs. Our protection against THEM. *praying for rain* What we give attention to, we give power to. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 38373843 United States 12/27/2014 02:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ignore ALL the above ethical and moral arguments about WHY the pig shot the dog. Here is the real reason. The murdering cops are most likely, Masons. Masons take their ritual seriously. One ritual is a confession of sins a inductee confesses. After this confession, the other Masons are sworn to defend the confessor, upon pain of death. After this ritual finishes, the Mason inductee is now told he is truly FREE, hense FREEMason, to do what he wants. ANYTHING HE WANTS. So you see them kill dogs, break laws and kill humans at will, and they will be protected by the Injustice System that exists because most are likely, Masons themselves. To stop the killers, stop Masonry. Now your eyes are open to the Hell of Masonry. All apologist's for Masonry are blatant liars. Pay no attention to them. Give them no honor at all, ever. |

At least there's some accountability but why on earth wouldn't the officers have been punished? Oh they say it was due to a "lack of training". Didn't realize a person needed training for common sense and basic humanity. I used to be an animal control officer for several years. The best training just comes from being a dog owner yourself. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that even agitated, aggressive dogs often will follow commands such "No! Sit!", etc. And scared, confused dogs such as in the video can be controlled by softly talking to them using words such as "good dog", "It's o.k.", etc. And scared, shy dogs will most likely even come to you if you kneel down to their level and call them. The funniest call I ever went on to assist a cop with two "vicious" pit bulls was an early morning call where someone had fled the police & left his dogs in the car. When I got there the cop was standing by his car about 30 feet from the other vehicle. The dogs barked when I walked up to the car. So I softly said, "Do you have to potty? Come on, let's go pee-pee." Haha, they both started wagging their tails and I opened the door, leashed them up and took them over to an area with dirt. Boy, did they have to go, poor guys. They were happy & I loaded them into my truck. The cop was speechless! Luckily, for those two we held them in pc after the owner was picked up & went to jail. After a couple of weeks a family member came to get them. But I think a big problem some cops have is that dogs can sense their fear. The main thing is to not show fear of them. Nice that you had some common sense. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2429770 As somebody who almost lost his arm to a dog bite...there is justification in killing a dog to protect a human life! Had the dog bitten somebody? Did they need to test it for rabies or something? Had the dog KILLED somebody? Where is the owner in all of this? Was this dog just running around a neighborhood and menacing people? What is the rest of the story?! I won't just pass judgment on the cops...I don't know the whole story! This^ There is no context to this video. |
