Is there such thing as an indoor lemon tree? Because that would change my mind completely about whether I'd want to receive a tree myself for Christmas.

An indoor lemon tree in the kitchen would be the greatest thing evAR. It's be the ultimate kitchen decor that would make me smile every time I walked into the kitchen.

There is, I was looking them up a few mins ago.

I might have to get her one. They are 2-3ft tall when you buy them and grow to about 4-5 ft.

She loves lemons, and loves good smells, and all that jazz.

!!!!!!!

That would be the best!!! I wasn't thinking of THAT kind of tree! Chibs, get it!
 Quoting: Runningwithscissors

I think I will get her one of those, and something else from your guys' list on this thread.

Edit: And, oh, hopefully the something else isn't the knee pads. lol

A heartfelt letter detailing all the things you love about her and why you treasure her. It would mean so much to her to have your sentiments in writing. Bonus points for framing it in a small beautiful frame. She will swoon and brag to all her friends about your sweet, romantic gesture. I would if my hubby did this for me:-)

Do a spa day for the both of you. She will appreciate the gift and the fact she can spend it with you. After it's done present her with a booklet of coupons you have made for her such as taking her car to get washed, doing dishes, running her a bath , etc. she will love it!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48752040

Don't forget to mark the coupons : expired yesterday :chuckle:

Just kidding of course. That's an awesome idea!

Just speak from your heart, no need to use fancy, flowery language. She'll know it's inauthentic if you do. Just state the reasons why you love her. How she makes YOU feel. Is she sweet, kind, a good mother? Sexy, a good cook, mysterious, creative, seductive? Try to really think about what makes her attractive to you, not just the physical traits, but mental and emotional traits. Do you two have fun together? Share your hopes for the future, maybe a possible adventure or shared activity to continue the bond and journey......

Quality Essential Oils make for really nice gifts.

Do Terra and Young Living are the two best EO companies out there. I use both and with the last set I purchased received an automated infuser, which we use ALL the time. They can also be used on children, which we do too.

I thought it was a cool idea.

Don't have to be a hippie to appreciate a tree.

:)
 Quoting: Chibs

Thanks Chibbers - I am surely not a hippie - but she may have a point. Does your wife like practical, outrageous or thought-provoking gifts? Just trying to nudge you into a category of what she might like.

I am going to pay a co-worker to play guitar music for my elderly mother for Christmas.
She was at a an outdoor wedding and all she could talk about was the music, a guitar and a bass.

 Quoting: beeches

What a beautiful, thoughtful gift! Your mother is going to LOVE that. hf

AG, thanks for saying that! I want to surprise her - she loves surprises.
 Quoting: beeches

Very creative gift. You may want to record this and play for your mom on TV screen later. Santa hat for the guitar player would be a nice addition:)

You have to get her a physical present. But, if you get tickets to a concert, then take her to dinner before, you have a nice date, a lovely evening and something to look forward to in the dreary winter months.

It isn't about what "women" want, have you listened to the little things she has said, about the enjoyments, desires, things she would like to laugh at or cry at or enjoy? What does she do for enjoyment, in the home or outside? What things do you enjoy doing together that you might option to provide for yourselves? booked short trip or concert or romantic dinner out of town?
